v1.2 Insurgency Cache-TK Bug

So, if you are a RedFor and the enemy has placed the C4 on your cache...

If you throw a grenade near the cache and the grenade explodes right as the cache is about to explode, then you are blamed as the TKer of the cache and killed for being a traitor.

So I guess this is some kind of flaw in how the game decides how damage is determined for the cache.

Definitely not a new bug.

It's not a bug exactly.

The cache is a vehicle and C4 won't blow it instantly, it smokes and explodes a few seconds after the C4 itself explodes just like most vehicles. If you hurt it somehow while he is smoking, you will get the "kill" and the game will treat you as a traitor.

This could be solved with C4 blowing the cache instantly.

I've always wondered why C4 isn't an insta-kill for the cache.

It isn't instantly killed because AFAIK you can theoretically still repair the cache after C4 goes off. Never seen it happen, though.

This is how it works sadly. The last one dealing damage to something gets full credit for the kill. On the plus side you can steal those juicy 8 kills from full trans chopper by just spraying small arms at it :)
If we made C4 destroy caches instantly, it would be easier to damage them critically from further distances. Forcing players to place the C4 directly on caches is one of our main concerns. Sorry for your 5min respawn, but i hope the admins at least understood :)
