Re: PRTA MAP TEST PACK - 18th of April!
The new maps are absolutely beautiful, but most are ZERO fun to play due to all the @$@^%@#$%^ ticket bleeds.
Hopefully this ticket bleed foolishness is just for the test? But then how are the maps to be tested when the rounds don't last more than 20 mins?
There are tons of shoot-em-up games out there that are all about rushing to Objectives... What made PR better than all others was the teamwork and planning... how can you plan anything and move to the enemy in any coordinated manner when your tickets are bleeding away... all that promotes is stupid rushes.
Let's hope we can have proper maps for the coming weekends? Shame to waste these beautiful maps on arcade-style gameplay.

Re: PRTA MAP TEST PACK - 18th of April!
I hear you Merchant, there won't be any ticketbleed on Sapphire, Grozny and Bamyan next weekend
*EDIT:Fixed it now, all that's needed is a server restart. Bleed fixed on Bamyan Sapphire and Grozny.

Re: PRTA MAP TEST PACK - 18th of April!
We ran 2 very succesfull weekends and evenings with the servers full (at EU) all the time, please leave any feedback
PRTA but especially the mappers would love to have some feedback on all the maps, we played 2 succesfull weekends and the mappers are changing stuff (serverside but also map related) and in a few weeks we're running this again with the changes made. However we could use the feedback to see what really should change, don't hesitate to write a small message with feedback about the maps you've maybe played!

Re: PRTA MAP TEST PACK - 18th of April!
I wish I could help provide more feedback, but last weekend, I forget now, but think it was a PR Tournament event or something on Saturday, and then on Sunday, I got on Grozny at the tail end of a match, then Sapphire came on and ppl became discouraged about the ticket bleed and the server emptied. I stayed on for Dragon Orchard, but there were no more than 12 of us, maybe less, then Steel Viper, and we were 4-6 for that one, and then there were none. Then this Saturday was the final battle for Campaign 10, and today had to go to the in-laws for supper, so been having limited time on the new maps.
Never had any issues with Grozny, but perhaps someone with lower specs might have frame rate issues? The map itself is perfect! Got a chance to play the skirmish version of Grozny today and thought the terrain once again was sheer genius (I doubt is was accidental). When we started the map and I looked at the map layout and flag positionings (was on the Militia side), I was dismayed, thought it was going to be ridiculous, all that open ground we were going to have to traverse to get to the NW part of the map, while the Russkies were going to be picking us off with their scoped weapons... but there were plenty of depression in the terrain to jump to and from, and static objects to hide behind, and grasses, that it made advance quite viable. Only got 1/2 an hour at the most on it, would need more time, but so far, it seems quite good in skirmish as well.
I myself never got to the upper flag, since our squad was holed up at the center warehouse for the whole round, but from what I saw of troop movements on the map, it seemed to me that once our guys got up to there, the problem they appeared to run into was that there were only a very few buildings up there to work with... it seemed as though once they made their way up, they had nowhere to hide and regroup or compose themselves before getting shot up by the enemy. Up there you were either inside one of a very small number of buildings, or you were out in the open in a field. Seemed as thought there was nowhere to go, seemed as though that flag area would have needed to be a bit larger (feedback from these players would be more useful, I wasn't up there myself, but rather I was just looking at our team-mates on the map... had to stay with my squad).
Actually, Temelin is a very close second to Grozny, great terrain, lots of cover, but maybe just a bit too many flags, since it results in constantly running back and forth "putting out fires". Perhaps an in-game poll 3/4 of the way through the round every time it is played could be registered and the results fed back to the Devs here, asking if the players would prefer a few less flags on the map? I myself don't think I have any preference here, not sure which way I would vote, but thought I might have heard a complaint about the running back and forth, but that might have been a minority opinion, so in-game votes would surely best gauge the player mood.
Getting too late, work tomorrow, will try to write up on a few more maps this week.
Thanks again for the great work on the maps guys, they are all visually stunning!
P.S. If ticket bleeds are eliminated or minimized, obviously, the ticket amounts... yeah, I'm sure it occurred to you immediately... shouldn't have even mentioned it. And as for feedback, perhaps in-game questionaires (just the key questions) might get you more data acquired. The server probably registers who voted which way, so if you were asking the same questions over the weekends, you could tell who was constantly voting the same way over the weeks and those answers could therefore count as only one answer/vote for that particular question, and if the vote had changed, the latest vote for that individual would be the one that would be counted. If you don't have the information on who voted which way, then individuals always playing the map and voting the same way could skew the results, so this in-game vote method might not work.

Download the file in the OP, extract to your root bf2 folder(file password: overthetop).MoronicAcid wrote:How do I installation?
(Next time the event runs you will probably need to redownload it because of the bugfixes)
