Question about standalone Project Reality 1.3
hello,
project reality 1.3 will be standalone, means no more vbf2 is required since all the files are integrated into project reality.
my question is: are unused files removed from the client and server files ? all the files related to the crosshair, hud (health bar etc) and all the stuff project reality doesnt use?

I am not sure of the specifics myself, but I believe if you install 1.3 over your current install, nothing will change, all the old BF2 files will remain, however if you uninstall BF2 & PR 1.2, then install PRv1.3, you will have the smallest install size possible, as only the essential files will be there.

Nothing is removed from BF2 if you still have it installed when v1.3 comes out. You can continue to play other mods although we suggest to move it to a other folder/drive to be sure. The standalone will only include BF2 files we use. Not the once we don't.

ok thats good, keeping unused files would only increase the overall size, thats why i asked'[R-DEV wrote:Mineral;2072052']Nothing is removed from BF2 if you still have it installed when v1.3 comes out. Re: question about standalone project reality 1.3
PR v1.0 already included most of vBF2 files we used such as statics and vehicles and all that. I believe AM at one point said we only still used about 30MB of things out of the main BF2 installation. So file size will not increase much with the standalone at all.

Does this mean that you guys are now able to change the engine or other stuff that you were previously not allowed?

Someone really has to hack into EA's archive and get the source codes!

I hope you guys changed some stuff around so that vBF2 cheats no longer work with PR.

As I have BF2 and PR on my SSD, I wouldn't mind shaving off a couple GBs of space, but of course I must ask, will I have to use download the 1.3 version via a torrent, or will a mirror version be avaliable?

You don't have to copy paste your question in every thread related to the subject you know...AnA10Warthog wrote:As I have BF2 and PR on my SSD, I wouldn't mind shaving off a couple GBs of space, but of course I must ask, will I have to use download the 1.3 version via a torrent, or will a mirror version be avaliable?

I posted it here first, then I realized it wasn't a good fit. Sorry for that, I guess.LiamNL wrote:You don't have to copy paste your question in every thread related to the subject you know...
