BF2Editor lag/unresponsive problem

Post by SHADOWNET »

good day, comrades!

EVERY time I load up a pr map in the editor (like dragon fly), the map is fine for few minutes and then ALL of a sudden, boom, it starts stopping (the ui becomes unresponsive, I couldn't do anything, and after a few minutes it went BACK to normal, than the whole thing happened again and again). Anyway, can you help me? PLEASE!

and before you ask, yes, I extracted the needed files for pr_edit, I have the more stable bf2 editor exe. Do I also need to extract the common_client/_server zip files as well along with the menu zip files???????????? I also extracted the common and menu folders to pr_edit. nothing changed!

update- Installed all the lightmap stuff, STILL THE SAME PROBLEM!

I really wanna start SP editing! Anyway, thanks and bye. I hope ya'll can help me!

BYE!

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by unresponsive but if the editor is slow and laggy you might want to try these things:
-turn off things you don't need in the mod manager (for example dynamic objects, vehicles, soldiers etc)
-turn off gameplay layers and use default (layer 0)
- if you have for example insurgency layer active make sure you have vehicles and stuff related to GPO activated in mod manager.

-with editor running, open photoshop and open a file (a picture for example) then close photoshop. The editor should become much smoother and react better to things you change.

(-Run the editor in win xp sp2 compatability mode and administrator)

I'm guessing your problem is a bit different from just a laggy and slow editor but these things might be good to know about anyway and who knows, might solve the problem..
