Help please how to play

im new to this mod and wanting to play, but idk how or where to get the files, can someone help me? do i need battlfield 2?

Yes, at the moment you need BF2. If you play it well you can get a digital download for free at the origin help desk. There are other ways of getting it as well though. After installing BF2 you download the PR client from here: Downloads | Project Reality.

There's a new update coming (v1.3) that won't require BF2 any longer. But I don't know the exact information on all that.

To get you started in the game:

- Read the PR manual first; it's not long and teaches you the basics of each kits, objectives, vehicles,...
- Create a local game and practice with some kits and weapon dynamics.
- Make sure you get your mumble working and assign easy to reach keys for local and squad talk (it's in the PR launcher it's options). I use 2 buttons on my mouse for that.
- Get in a server (with a working microphone), join an infantry squad, and take an easy kit at first (rifleman, medic or AR).
- Don't get demoralised by people calling you names.

Go to the origin website and find your way in the 'help' section and eventually you can get in a chat session with someone of their helpdesk.

Fake a story about you having a physical copy of BF2 but you'd like a digital copy. You searched their store (origin) but found they're no longer offering it. If you play it well (like I "might" have done) I'm sure they'll give you a digital copy of BF2.

Wait for a few weeks and it could be that you won't have to buy Battlefield 2 in order to play the game.

Just wait until PR 1.3 is released (very soon). Then you don't need to purchase copy of BF2 anymore.

I suggest waiting for 1.3, its only just around the corner and you save money on not having to buy bf2.

yea i was gonna wait if its a couple weeks, also your from australia what is your ping and delay on usa servers?

On prta NA#1 (LA) i get 180-200 ping which imo is quite playable and generally where australian players play when the server is popped. Other servers such as fcv and hog have higher ping for us making firefights not as fun but its still playable.

PR isn't that bad to play at higher pings compared to other games, you'll still lose some clutch situations because of your ping but its not a huge handicap.
