Its keeps on running with integrated graphics, no matter what I do.

Post by fromage99 »

The PR folder remains Read-only

Every time, I change what graphics driver to use, it defaults to integrated.

I even created a administrator account, and it still defaulted to integrated.

This applies to all exe

I had no problem with the previous version.

Disable your integrated graphics drivers in Device Manager, then test it again.

Same here. Won't let me use my main graphics card at all. Tried everything. Can't even play the game. Whenever I add pr2 in the nvidia control panel it just says access denied. Sucks

You're suppose to disable integrated graphics via BIOS, not device manager. Some guy did that, and his screen went black (he had a gaming laptop too)

However, when I go into BIOS, and the option to disable integrated graphics is not there.
Its probably not a good idea to disable it.

Everytime I add both the PR launcher and exe to the nvidia control panel, it disappears.

What kind of permissions do I need to fix this?

I even reinstalled.

I did install PR by extracting the contents of the iso, instead of mounting it (it wouldn't mount, but PR v1.21 did).
I downloaded the torrent version.
I also changed to install dictionary.

Go to the link here and scroll all the way down: G46 - How do i force Nvida 660m chip use in games?

You can switch graphics card with the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Go to 'Start Menu', in the search type in 'NVIDIA Control' and click/press enter on NVIDIA Control Panel.

Under 3D Settings, click on 'Manage 3D Settings', and under Global Settings, you should see 'Preferred graphics processor'. Switch it to 'High-performance NVIDIA processor' and then press 'Apply'

Yeah I've tired that, it it just goes back to the default settings after changing it. I'm going to be upgrade to 8.1 and update drivers soon. Maybe that'll help.

Thanks

Updating to 8.1 and updating the drivers will work.

If it doesn't:

Solution #1: Running nvcplui as Admin
  1. Go to C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client, and find nvcplui.
  2. Right-Click, click on Properties.
  3. In nvcplui Properties, click on the 'Compatability' tab, and click on the box that says 'Run this program as an administrator'. Apply and press OK.
Solution #2: Uninstall Nvidia GeForce Experience
  1. Go to the Start Menu, and in the search box type in 'Add Remove' without the commas.
  2. Press enter and it will open up the Add Remove program
  3. Go down to 'Nvidia GeForce Experience', right-click and uninstall
Solution #3: Completely remove all NVIDIA drivers and fresh install.

Do a system restore before doing this + backup just in case. I've tested this with my ASUS ROG G751JT with no problems.
  1. Type in 'dxdiag' without commas. It'll say if you want to check if it's digitally signed, press 'no'. The popup should come up. Go to Display, and write down the graphics card name, or if it's on the laptop, that's ok.
  2. Download Guru3D Display Driver Uninstaller
  3. Run the Display Driver Uninstaller, which will tell you to extract it. By default it will extract to the same folder as it's downloaded
  4. Run the program. It will ask you to run in 'Safe mode'. Press ok.
  5. Once it rebotted into 'Safe mode', the window should come back. Press the 'Safe Uninstall' button. It will automatically restart.
  6. Once restarted, go to the NVIDIA Driver Website here NVIDIA Driver Download and choose the graphics card driver, or you can use Option 2.
  7. Run the .exe. Choose 'Custom Installation', and select the 'Clean Installation' box and then press next.
