I'm testing a possible workaround to BD's Anti Virus measures for PR v1.3. This should fix the .dll issue and at the same time allow you to run BD's Anti Virus software post-installation (Turning it on after installation will render your game unplayable just as before installation). This workaround is based on what the devs have posted and what others have posted so far.
BitDefender Workaround for CoreDLL.dll
Step 1: Download the .iso file using a torrent (With BD on or off; I'm using it on because the problem occurs at installation)
Step 2: Turn off BitDefender's On-Access Scanning(O-AS) and Active Virus Control(AVC) for X minutes(However much time it will take to install)
Step 3: Mount .iso and install PR v1.3
Step 4: Go back to Anti Virus and make sure O-AS and AVC are still off. Afterwards, click on the Exclusions tab.
Step 5: Turn on Exclusions for Files (If it isn't on already) and click on Excluded Files and Folders
Step 6: Click Add, then Browse and look for where you installed PR v1.3. Once found the entire folder to excluded.
Step 7: Once the folder is excluded, you may turn O-AS and AVC back on when you want to and you should be able to run PR v1.3 without any problems.
OUTCOME: (SUCCESS|TRY AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION)
I will come back to edit this post to update the outcome. Thank you and have a good one.
UPDATE 1: Code 5 occurred following method I presented above (Torrent possible clash perhaps; very unlikely) however works again after a second try. Currently installing.
UPDATE 2: I successfully installed and launched PR v1.3 with BitDefender shut off. I will now attempt steps 5-7 to see if excluding the Project Reality folder will work.
UPDATE 3: I have tested each step and each one works. If you follow this method to the letter, you should be able to keep your AV on after installation and still play PR v1.3. Thanks Devs for the help and advice. Have a good one everybody.
Unable to rewrite CoreDLL.dll, code 5: accesse denied.

So in your UPDATE 2 did you exclude any files or folder cause you said you will now attempt steps 5 and 7?
That's not flying, that's just falling with style.

Sorry I should have been more clear when I was editing the postfinoogles wrote:So in your UPDATE 2 did you exclude any files or folder cause you said you will now attempt steps 5 and 7?
I installed and launched PR v1.3 with BitDefender off in order to see if there were any issues before I continued. Once I determined there were no issues, I then went back onto BitDefender to exclude the PR v1.3 folder. Afterwards, I turned BD's AV tools back on and then could launch PR v1.3 without any issues.
I will edit update 2 to avoid any misunderstandings. Thank you.

Same here. First, I was questioning what if the .iso file we downloaded really was infected (PR might be wrong). Then, it was difficulty seeing what others said on here because servers were overloaded and what not. I'm glad you got it to work. Have a good one.finoogles wrote:Ok so I followed your steps, step by step and it is finally workingwitch is stupid cause I did exactly these steps last night and did not work for me
I don't even want to question this anymore I nearly pulled my hair out last night. for every one that is having this problem with BitDefender follow his steps and it should work.

This post helped fix my issue, I did step one differently however, I simply turned my Bitdefender from aggressive to normal and then for step two I made a Project Reality folder in myZacam wrote:This is similar to posted here: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... patch.html
Where a fix was discovered. You can also read my last post for additional notes.
I would like to request, if it's possible, that a moderator pin Bitdefender related threads with these solutions so that people who experience these errors can find them easily.

Yeah I did all of those steps and it kept coming up with the same problem then I saw your message saying it didn't work the night before but now it's working and thought maybe if I restart my computer and then try...bam worked first time after restarting no idea why that is but it seems to be all sorted nowfinoogles wrote:Ok so I followed your steps, step by step and it is finally workingwitch is stupid cause I did exactly these steps last night and did not work for me
