PR 1.3 crash to desktop
Hi
i'm having a few problems with the new release and i'm seeking help please. when i launch i get a black screen then a very brief message saying 'pr1.3 closed cleaning up resources'. i've tried a few times and just get the same message. If anyone has experience fixing this problem i'd be glad of their help I've never got bf2 to run on my pc despite the resolution and other fixes online lol so i was looking forward to this release only to be stumped

Re: PR 1.3 crash to desktop
Try to run it outside fullscreen mode, as a window. That way I got an error message otherwise unseen.

Thanks, but the downloader is convinced I already have installed a more recent or equivalent version of DirectX, so it sees no need to install anything'[R-COM wrote:LITOralis.nMd;2074734']Pastor_Mora , you need to install Directx 9c

Re: PR 1.3 crash to desktop
Similar issue, but it crashes at a random moment after entering game menu. No message (not even in windowed mode). It worked the first time I installed, but the next day was a different story.
---
Update: Uninstalled, cleaned registry, reset, reinstalled, reset, removed background movie (in case corrupt), still crashes. O.o
---
Update:
Reinstalled Windows;
installed DX9, .NET framework 4.5.2, and Visual C++ Studio 2013;
reinstalled Project Reality.
Now it works. I'll see if it see works tomorrow.

Re: PR 1.3 crash to desktop
Andy, I don't see many 25Hz monitors, I had to search out a solution for this.
Solution: add a custom resolution in Nvidia Control Center
written tutorial:
Custom Resolutions | NVIDIA
Video tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlERjmkBoHg
Next:
Rename documents/ProjectReality to documents/ProjectRealityOLD
Open PRLauncher: ->Options-> you should see your custom resolutoin now. select it, click APPLY.
shutdown PRlauncher
Open PRLauncher
run PR to test.

Re: PR 1.3 crash to desktop
Hi, thanks for your reply. I have changed the resolution on my amd r9 285 card using custom resolution in the AMD Catalyst centre to 1080i@30hz which is i believe 1080i (1920x1080 interlaced)@30hz standard ( can also do 25hz,29hz which is why you came across this value in my report. My tv (15") is HD READY not full HD can produce 720p @60hz but thats way too large on my small screen so not an option
Anyhoo i have renamed Projectreality folder in my documents to ProjectRealityold as instructed so when i launched again i received a new project reality folder and once i lretrieved my account it showed the new resolution in options but all resolutions are at 60hz so it would seem that whatever screen size i change to the refresh rate is going to stay at 60hz. If i try to play it just gives the cleaning up resources and ctd Any ideas?

You can try an old program called Gophn's BF2 Startup Crash Fix 1.2 , BUT.. I can't find a copy of it to give you.
It allows you to run vanilla BF2 at non standard refresh rates, i.e. 58Hz, 59Hz 25Hz etc
