Was really looking forward to playing PR tonight.

So I see that 1.3 has been released. I start the download via torrent, and it appears as if 3 people are seeding. With everyone that has downloaded it, you would think there would be more than 3.

So after a long trip over the weekend, im home with no PR :(

Seed dangit!

ETA: Ok, there are now a few more seeding. Still going to take 2 hours. ARGH! I reckon i'll see you guys tomorrow.

I was finally able to get on. Wow at the noobfest! I couldn't even deal with it. I switched squads 3 times and still couldn't find a decent teamwork squad.

Please tell me it will be better with time. I'll give it another go tomorrow. That was painful watching the chat and listening to the VOIP.

It'll be better in time, will probably take a few weeks, maybe even a month or so before people learn the game.

In the mean time, we can all do our best to help and guide those new players, so that they can learn to love this game just like we do.

Yea, it started to go pretty quick after I complained :-)

I like to think everyone stopped what they were doing and began seeding just for me. Ended up only taking about an hour to fully download for me.

Im perfectly willing to help the new folks. It's just those console gamers have huge egos and think they are beyond needing help. I saw numerous randoms taking APCs out for joy rides and they weren't even in the APC squad. I think I dug an entire super fob by myself since the rest of the squad was out lone wolfing it.

I'm not going anywhere. Ive been playing since '07, i've seen new players come in and get good. This is just a huge influx of them, so it's overwhelming.

Yeah, have had the same experience when I played yesterday. Most of them seems to think this game is like Dayz, H1z1 or any survivalgame where you can freeroam as sniper without teamwork to win.

I know I'm no vet with my 2 years of playing, but I came here for the teamwork, without it its just feels like an ordinary shooter. So I think I'll wait a few weeks until the worst has passed.

On what Server are you playing, good servers have enforcing admins so stuff like soloing voip spam etc won't happen.

If your squad is lonewolfing around, then you need to reflect your own actions as the squad leader and not just blame the new guys. There will be a lot of new players that don't know what to do or how to do it. Sure, there'll be a few bad apples too but generally I don't think it's an attitude or ego problem, but simply a problem of not knowing better.
That's where the SL comes in: he needs to really control the squad and show the new guys how things are done "around here". Having a couple of old players to rely on helps a lot.
This is what we need to do as a community a lot more if we want to make the most of this influx of new players.

There is no way to proactively prevent some new players from spamming the comms if they are used to more relaxed communication or no communication at all. Most people do stop spamming if someone assertively tells them to, same goes with taking assets for joyrides etc. If they don't, they get reported to the admins and only then one can start to talk about server quality.

It was actually on HOG. I think most of the HOG admins go to bed early so it's get's "rag-tag" toward midnight :)
