CO-OP with Friends

Post by TTWINS »

Hello everybody,

yesterday we tried to Play co-op (3 guys) but didn?t get it to work.
How does it work?

We did the following:

- I created a Co-op game
- In the Co-op server-browser, my game did not Show up
- So we tried with direct ip Connection, message was "Connection to Server lost"
- Finally, we tried over LAN (hamachi), didn?t work either.

I?m glad for any help, we really like the game and want to practice before going online with real players

Hello and welcome to PR!
You need to create a local game by going to deployment > Create local game (not the cooperative tab from the first menu screen)

When you see the maplist you need to choose co-op in the dropdown list and then choose the maps you want in the server. Set the maximum players slider to the number of human players and then set amount of bots(the lower number of human players the more bots you can have up to a max of 48 bots)

Other players should be able to join by IP if you have hamachi running.

Hello Ason and thanks for your fast reply.

Are you sure there is a "Deployment" in Version 1.3?
From the menu I can only choose CO-OP and Multiplayer.

And when I create a local MP-Game, I can select every gamemode (AAS, Insurgency, and more) but no COOP is selectable.

Also I am only able to set up 32 Bots instead of the 48 you mentioned.

Another strange Thing is: When making a MP-Game, the "Server-Info"-Tab ingame is empty (when pressing TAB->Right click -> going to Server info in the corner).

Ah my bad, afaik you should create the game from the co-operative tab like you did and then the other players should be able to join local by going to co-operative > join internet > Join by IP. Atleast this is the way I did it before.
It should work like this if you have hamachi.

Ah okay, well, we tried that but had no success... it says "Connection to Server lost", but it didnt even connect in the first place.

As I said, there also is only empty "Server Info" when checking it ingame ... I have the Feeling, that the game does not make a Server at all, and makes it only local-Singleplayer ... maybe a bug?

EDIT:

I am starting to believe that they removed the LAN-Possibility for COOP.
- If you want to search for COOP-Servers, you only can choose "Internet" and ALSO only "Direct-IP" over Internet, not LAN
- If you create a Local (LAN) Server, you can not choose COOP in the dropdown list
