COOP
Hello everybody,
yesterday we tried to Play co-op (3 guys) but did not get it to work.
How does it work?
We did the following:
- I created a Co-op game
- In the Co-op server-browser, my game did not Show up
- So we tried with direct ip Connection, message was "Connection to Server lost"
- Finally, we tried over LAN (hamachi), did not work either.
I am glad for any help, we really like the game and want to practice before going online with real players

Re: COOP
he is talking about local game and afaik it should show up in the local server list if using hamachi and everthing is set up right. Don't know if anything has changed since 1.0 though, which was the last time I did it.Cossack wrote:Coop has its own dedicated servers, same with online pvp servers. Re: COOP
hi,
as said before, the server-browser will only show dedicated-servers... therefore you can't do it this way...
however, it should work over hamachi... are you sure you set up hamachi properly? have you tried other games? do they work fine?
you shouldn't have any issue playing PR over hamachi (LAN), it's really easy and simple... don't know why it didn't work....
you can also try connecting through IP instead of using the broswer... you must enter the virtual IP (the ones hamachi gives you) in the client that is connecting...
I remember some time ago, even on LAN I couldn't connect to my server... I had to type the IP to connect... but that was a firewall/router issue
finally, you can try older versions of hamachi... at least I prefer them over newer ones
let us know if you got it working...

Thanks for the answer.
- If I want to search for COOP-Servers, I only can choose "Internet" and ALSO only "Direct-IP" over Internet, not LAN
- If I create a Local (LAN) Server, Ican not choose COOP in the dropdown list
Another strange Thing is: When making a MP-Game, the "Server-Info"-Tab ingame is empty (when pressing TAB->Right click -> going to Server info in the corner).
If I make a Local MP-Game (AAS or Skirmish), my friend finds the server in the LAN-List and also can connect via IP.
We get everything to work, but no COOP.
Are you 100% sure coop is not SP only since 1.3?
We are not new to server-setup and so on (we are 27 and 30 years old, started gaming since its very beginnings) and used to go to LAN-Parties all the time. Its really enfuriating me right now, starting to feel dumb

Re: COOP
I used hamachi just before 1.3 it was a pain but it worked on coop.
Go to coop then create local it is there, my boy was doing it just yesterday, you have to find a map on the list then add map then deploy.

Re: COOP
Go to Co-operative, create local, add maps (set up bot numbers, or ticket ratio however you want), Deploy. When it finishes loading, tell your friends to go to deployment, join local and update server list, it should show up and then they just join (Hamachi should be set up prior to that).
"Join local" will show any locally created game regardless of the gamemode or from which menu thingy you created it from. Also one very usefull tip is to decrease the max number of players to less then 16, that way you can have 48 bots instead of just 32 (you could edit the ai file within PR/mods/ai folders if you desire to get even more bots, look it up on Internet).
Me and my friend play LAN coop a lot, we just use Tunngle. (:

Re: COOP
Holy Jizz it worked guys, this is how:
- Both log in to Hamachi, make sure both ping-tests work
- You have to be BOTH logged in as OFFLINE Account(!)
- Then Create Coop over Co-Operation tag, NOT Multiplayer!
- Second Player then goes to "join local" (NOT Internet, NOT Direct IP)
- Server is there, ready to join
Thanks to everybody again!
Edit: One more question:
Is it even possible to capture a Point with 2 men?
We stood like 5 minutes as near as possible to the capture Point (flag) on the map, nothing happened, did not even turn into neutral...

Re: COOP
yes, it's possible... the minimum required to capture a CP is 2 men...TTWINS wrote:Edit: One more question:

it did not happen in your case because probably there were some bots around that area... you have to kill them first, otherwise you can't capture the flag
and finally, you can edit PR files using the windows Notepad, and change the minimum to 1 man, or watever the number you fell like.. it's very easy to do...

Re: COOP
Flags/Points must be captured in a pre-determened order, if you tried to sneakily capture a flag behind the front lines you have run into a mechanic that prevents that (unless there really were enemies there as mentioned). You can see the order in which you must capture points on the loading screen.TTWINS wrote:Holy Jizz it worked guys, this is how:

And this wont lead to a ban when playing online? Since game-files were manipulated.___SANGUE-RUIM___ wrote:yes, it's possible... the minimum required to capture a CP is 2 men...

no, this file is for only SP/LOCAL, not used in MP...TTWINS wrote:And this wont lead to a ban when playing online? Since game-files were manipulated.

besides, if you change something that you shouldn't, you will get a warning message even before you game opens... remember that the launcher checks your files?
here is the line is:
# Number of players needed to capture or neutralize a CP
# Default is 2
C['AAS_MINNRTOTAKECONTROL'] = 2
just change the third line there, from 2 to 1 if you want... or another number
