Game CTD in Menu after upgrading Rig

Post by Extra »

So first of all let me thank you for making this awesome game(mod). I had a lot of fun hours so far.

But after upgrading my Rig the Game keeps crashing to desktop after ca.30 seconds in the menu. It does not create any Log files and also does not show any error message when not in fullscreen.
I also checked the Performance but there are no Memory Peaks when crashing.

I build a new Pc, so the whole Hardware is new and every other game i tested works fine.

Here is what i tried so far:

- reinstalled the Game
- tried to change resolution
- plugged second monitor out
- tried to run in every compability mode
- tried to run without any other programs open (including firewall)
- deleted the Profile Folder in MyDocuments
-created new Profile Online/Offline
- did every Utility via the Launcher
- changed audio settings from Hardware to Software

also worth mentioning is probably, that the menu that opens when launching the PRBF2.exe does not crash.

Hope somebody has some ideas

Display Device(s): Generic PnP Monitor on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Generic PnP Monitor on Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
Display Mode(s): 1920 x 1200 (32 bit) @ 59 Hz
1920 x 1080 (32 bit) @ 60 Hz
Display Mode: 1920x1200@60Hz
IN general Why are you doing that? set both monitors to be connected to the GTX 970.

specific to your problem, make sure you have the correct monitor plugged into the GTX 970, you need to use NVIDIA control panel to force PRBF2.exe PRLauncher.exe to use the GTX 970, and then make sure you select correct resolution and refresh rate in PRlauncher,, and click apply.

thanks for your reply.

that solution with my second monitor is just temporary. I didn?t had a chance to buy a mini HDMI yet, and the GTX970 only supports that. I was a bit suprised that there are no issues wathsoever with plugging one monitor into the graphics card and the other into my mainboard.

Sadly, i already did everything you suggested and it didn?t make any difference.
(I also just use one monitor when trying to launch the game)

cheers,

Hey, I answered two days ago and it said the post will be visible when a moderator took a look at it. I guess something went wront....

Here is what I said more or less.

The reason why i had the second monitor plugged into my mainboard is that the GTX 970 only supports mini HDMI and i did not had a mini HDMI cable at that point.

But I tried starting with only one monitor and also did everything you suggested. Sadly it still doesn?t work.

PS: congratulations on reaching the second stretch goal ;)

Make the resolutions the same.
I see extra had one screen on 59.
When I first got my present laptop it was on 59Hz and wouldn't run BF2

I have also removed BF2 no problems with PR since

i'm confused. are you asking for help or providing a solution? should make your own thread with specs if the former.
