Dropping supply crates with helicopter
for now i always land when i drop a supply crate is this needed? because just now they asked me to drop a crate on some roof but i couldnt land there so i dropped it while flying over and they still said 'thank you!' so it isn't important to place the crate exactly where they want it and i can just drop it while flying? also sometimes there is a transport squad but i cant join it because its blocked? then i join another squad and use the choppers and ofcourse everyone looses their minds... so whats up with that?

Hey,
Regarding flying while not in the correct squad, there is an asset rule in-game. This to prevent the misuse of assets. If you insist on flying a helicopter and you are actually capable of flying, ask the squad-leader to open his squad. In case he doesn't change your role and don't touch the helicopters. Don't argue about the rule, the asset rule has been in PR since the beginning of the mod and it is vital for a good team.
Regarding the crate drops, if you are 50 meters above the ground the crates will survive a drop, sometimes they drop a little bit off. So you can fly over with full speed and drop them above your troops hoping that they land on the right spot.
I believe it is all mentioned in the manual regarding crates and such so please read it trough. It is not only better for your understanding of the game, but new players whom have read the manual are often already better than people playing it for a year without reading it.

You usually shouldn't land to drop supplies. I'm no pilot myself but you can safely drop them to about 10m from the ground.
On most servers vehicle assets ( helicopters, jets, tanks, apc's) are only allowed in correctly named squads. Jets and attack helicopters always go into CAS, tanks go into the TANK squad for example. On most servers it's the same with transport/supply helicopters. They belong in the TRANS or LOGISTICS or HELI squad. And therefore on most servers the admins will not appreciate you using choppers inside other infantry or other asset squads.

Re: Dropping supply crates with helicopter
To extend what was previous said, these locked squads are for most of the time due to two scenarios:
- Prevent players to join, grab a kit and lonewolf around
- Prevent the backup chopper to be used

Dont question the wikipedia! Just because it reports different things on different languages does not make it unreliable source!
