Well this would be classed as a "Heavy Jeep", like the Up-Armoured HMMWV or Panther, which don't normally come in a unarmed version (other than the non-armoured HMMWV with open back).
Is this jeep used commonly in real life without any weapons?

I guess yes. Look up at model SPM-2 "Tigr-Alpha-BB" or Nimr. You see more unarmed versions than armed versions. Though Russian Armed Forces uses 30mm nade launcher and/or 7,62mm MG in then[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:Well this would be classed as a "Heavy Jeep", like the Up-Armoured HMMWV or Panther, which don't normally come in a unarmed version (other than the non-armoured HMMWV with open back).

Ye, would have to ask our MAs if it would be used in combat like that but looks pretty common from the pics but might be like that just for testing?

Re: [Vehicle] Russian GAZ-2975 Tigr [WIP]
SPM tigr are MVD police versions, not military. Nimr is not russian, but arabian(tigr originally was created for arabs under abbreviation nimr, but later deal was canceled and arabs retained old blueprints and started producing it themselves, russians adapted it to russian climate, modernized and named it tigr). Right now, Tigr-M is being adopted in rus military.
In Crimea, they were using Gaz Tigr with only a machine gun, without any grenade launcher. You could easily use it as Humvee analogue, except Gaz tigr is more vulnerable cuz gunner isn't covered from front and sides and Pecheneg machinegun is weaker than 50cal on humvee.
Also in photo the gunner is seen to be using pecheneg machinegun with bipod on - which means he can easily detach it at will. - that in return means you could just make a gaz tigr with closed hatches without a machine gun installed as if its in long travel driving mode(i believe they do exactly that in rainy day or in freezing winter, snow).

That's a PKM, actually, a PKP mounting one is the one on the left, hah. Perhaps have an open hatch in that version where a passenger can deploy his MG, maybe?Hokunin wrote:SPM tigr are MVD police versions, not military. Nimr is not russian, but arabian.

I think the PKP will be fine to start with, later (if we have the model) we can add the AGS-30/17.
Using seperate weapons (weapon 1 for PKP, weapon 2 for AGS-30), as rhino mentioned before, is probably the best way to do it.

Looks good but there is no need for the central dividing edge down the middle, just wasting tris.

Looking nice. I hope this vehicle replaces the BRDM-2 (no-gun version) for Russian forces.

No, that's no gunner version cabin, probably SPM police version.
GAZ Tigr with machinegunner has different layout. The gunner version would be 5 passengers (not counting the driver), thats assuming that one of the passengers when needed gets up from his seat and takes on the gunner position. All in all, 6 men would fit in one car sitting.
However, taking into account game mechanic another one can be added on the machine gunner position(though that would be against logic in real life cuz he won't have a place to sit).

7 total occupants can be justified then, hehe.Hokunin wrote:No, that's no gunner version cabin, probably SPM police version.

Rhino please, It's because if someone looks into the vehicle the soldiers with camo on the inside won't be seen.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:What is with the cammo inner lining?![]()

Re: [Vehicle] Russian GAZ-2975 Tigr [WIP]
That's the result of brutal unification in russian military industry. That camo lining is made of a ballistic material/fabric, which is also used in other military equipment, probably as concealment thingy like camouflage net. They're trying to achieve cost effectiveness I guess, plus russian military never really cared about how their warmachines aestheticaly look like.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:What is with the cammo inner lining?![]()
