About the parachute

Could we have a fix on the damage inflicted with low pull ?
Death is a bit too much i think. Maybe injuries at best! :)

There is a fix.

It's called pull parachute earlier.

People in that video didn't jump from as high as they do when normally parachuting, nor do they carry as much as soldiers do.

Interesting answer from a person who's nation crashes their planes onto targets haha

The weight does make a point tho. Although the Pilot kit doesn't wear any heavy gear.

About the height of drops, a chopper is usually flying at 200-300 altitude max, wich I believe is prolly same as the example I shown :)

Wich make's me think about 0.9 PR in wich regular kits had parachutes too! I thought this was pretty interesting for the creation of an airborne squad

Idea:- Put parachute on rifleman/medic etc back, set it with high altitude pull
- modify pilot kit parachute to take damage instead of death

Large maps with low forest density suffer's of infantry efficiency and often only relies on assets to determines the issues of a round. Having the possibility to deploy airbornes units would give an other path for leading a team to its victory!
(And would also transform a boring match to a dynamic match for infantries squads)

:D

There are already "para" kits that have a parachute, but only available to the maps that has an airborne spawn point like Silent Eagle or Dovre.

Having a full squad (-1) dropping from manned chopper over battlefield is a completely different story m8 :)

Interrsting answer from a person whose country...oh wait, you didn't have much of a country.

Parachutes are for bailing out of Planes, not choppers for obvious reasons. (giving "chopper" its other meaning)

Referring to pilot kit...

Kits that represent paratroopers will have parachutes; kits that don't will not have parchutes, simple as that.

They are not basejumpers...

There will not be kits for you to jump off anything in any map.

Parachutes in PR are removed for a different reason, not because it is not possible to jump from a helicopter or lower altitude.

The reason is because PR is all about conventional warfare, no spec ops etc. So when there is a need for an operation that includes paratroopers, the map is set up with spawns in the air such as Silent Eagle.

No, it's fine just the way it is. In PR you always jump at a low altitude, be it from a helicopter or an air spawn point, and when jumping at low altitude you pull the chute immediately. Just press 9 as soon as you spawn, or as soon as you leave the chopper, it's easy.

Real helicopter pilots don't carry parachutes, you CAN parachute out of an helicopter, as long as you're in the back seat, not in the controls. As soon as you drop the controls the helicopter will go out of control, and you'll be very lucky to get out alive with a parachute. Pilots in real life don't jump out in case of engine failure, they do an emergency landing, auto rotation. In PR chopper pilots get parachutes because, 1: you can't really do auto rotation emergency landings like in ArmA; and 2: because the pilot kit is the same for fighter pilots and helicopter pilots, and fighter pilots do need parachutes.

Rain08 is right, there are already paratrooper kits. On maps like Silent Eagles, all german kits get parachutes, I've seen entire german squads jump out of a Huey flying at like 600m, it's epic (and in case you're wondering, yes, they did pull the chute imediatly, and they survived the landing to provide a load of surprise butt sex to our russian asses).

Base jumpers use special modified parachutes designed to open at low velocities, so a paratrooper jumping from an helicopter at 300m and a base jumper jumping from a cliff at 300m are not the same thing.

Kamikaze planes were japanese, not chinese.

We all have to admit, it was fun jumping in an F35 in BF2 and simply using it for a spec ops jump onto the flag and ninja capping it. That is not going to happen in PR. Sorry.

Besides the para-spawns in Dovre and Silent Eagle, what is the point of parachutes in PR?

Para-jumping out of a helo makes no sense at all, and the mod cannot implement ejection seats on fighters.

And once you're on the ground you have to find out a way to arrange transportation or walk your *** back to base! :)
