Allow the commander to control the UAV from FOBs
Self explanatory really. The commander never really gets to lead from the front because he's constantly glued to the UAV. Unfortunately the UAV is just too powerful of an asset for a commander to justify wasting his time running around on the front line. Allowing him to control it from FOBs would give the commander more room to occasionally leave the UAV and lead or perhaps even use the seldom seen commander rally.

Have you ever thought that maybe Commander isn't supposed to run around on the front line?

UAV refueling time is a good time to make FOBs.Steeps wrote:It can sometimes be helpful to run around the field. Namely the only purpose is to build FOBs and not much else though.

If the developers didn't intend for him to command outside of the base then they wouldn't have given him the commander rally. The front line doesn't necessarily mean he has to be in the thick of combat.ComradeHX wrote:Have you ever thought that maybe Commander isn't supposed to run around on the front line?
Commander can't even build fobs by himself as he can't request any kits other than the officer kit.ComradeHX wrote:UAV refueling time is a good time to make FOBs.

When was the last time you saw a Commander Rally?Firepower01 wrote:If the developers didn't intend for him to command outside of the base then they wouldn't have given him the commander rally. The front line doesn't necessarily mean he has to be in the thick of combat.

I bet even pepperridge farm doesn't remember.
Commander can spawn with Rifleman kit and request Officer kit...you just need to know what you are doing.

No that's actually a decent idea because a commander can give some really good intel. If he's out on the front and sees everything he is also able to mark everything he sees accurately on the map. Not sure if every fob is able to be modified to a commander uav trailer..?

That's my point, nobody uses the commander rally because they're constantly stuck in the UAV trailer.ComradeHX wrote:When was the last time you saw a Commander Rally?

I've seen some pretty great commanders that were on the front line but not in the thick of combat direct a team to the peak of combat effectiveness. A Commander that knows the UAV in and out is pretty good. But when a commander can be diverse and still contribute to the team heavily is even better.

Nobody uses commander rally because there is no need to...Firepower01 wrote:That's my point, nobody uses the commander rally because they're constantly stuck in the UAV trailer.
Either you have fobs everywhere(especially if commander knows how to build them by himself) or your team is fucked and there is nothing you can do as n00bs spawned on carrier or something and had a smoke/TK party.

Well personally I think the commander rally should have some special properties. Those being that they can only be overrun if an enemy closes within 50m on all map sizes, not just 1x1 maps. I wouldn't call it useless in it's current state though, I just think it never really gets the opportunity to get used because commanders never leave the baseComradeHX wrote:Nobody uses commander rally because there is no need to...

This is a suggestion and not feedback
It wont happen. Wont go into much detail, but main reason are engine limitations that you would have to work around making this really ugly to implement.
