installing BF2 editor with battlefield 2 on steam please help

Hi i don't know if someone already asked this because when i try to search for it i get no results so im sorry if this is a repeating thread.

Regardless my question is this. where do i put the bf2 editor files if i got bf2 on my steam account? ive tried following the Setting Up the BF2 Editor for PR Mapping/Modding but it doesn't state in there were to install the bf2 editor just that you need to install it and ive read it multiple times now. i have tried doing this with the zip file suggested in the forum and also with a bf2 editor install program. when i run the install program it says bf2 is not found. i even moved my bf2 folder from my steam file to just the programs x86 folder on my hdd. i was able to do most of the other prep work found in the tut but im stuck on this. please help me out guys. thanks for your time.

ps: im on windows 7 and i know i need to run in in windows xp service pack 3 compatibility mode.

you don't need BF2 installed. Like it says in the explanation thread. Place all files in the .zip in the C/Program Files/Project Reality/Project Reality BF2/ folder. Then just make a shortcut from BF2Editor.exe .
