Quick question about ping
Hey, I've been watching some of bluedrake's videos recently and I noticed that many of the players on his server are europeans. In most fps games a ping over 80-90 can disturb the gameplay quite drastically but how is it in PR? I don't personally have bad ping on eu servers and on eastern us servers i get about 140, is that playable? I'm mostly curious, PR isn't necessarily combat based so I guess it could be possible..

Re: Quick question about ping
Anything below 300 is generally acceptable in PR from my experience.
You only really notice higher ping when you're in a CQB environment. Believe me, I've lost some close fights that I knew I should have won.

Re: Quick question about ping
I get 150 on European servers and play everything perfectly. If it's under 300 it should be good.
This isn't like most other games where ping is a huge issue.

Re: Quick question about ping
Since PR isn't the most fast-paced fps game and also puts relatively little emphasis on lightning-fast precise aiming it's actually very playable with pings in the 150ish range, sometimes even well above that.
As a german I play on the US servers quite a bit at (local) late night, the high ping is very rarely noticeable.

Ping itself is not a issue, it only really becomes an issue if you have packet loss. Playing around 150 is still fine, even tho you notice a worse hitreg. But as stated by people above, its not about shooting first in many cases.

Re: Quick question about ping
I went from playing on a 70 ping all the time to a 250 for a few years in CQB I was worse but in long engagements I just lead the shot a lot more.
Playing on a COOP server with the same ping as your preferred PvP server helped see how much i must try to shoot in front.

Yeah I played some on a us server today, it did play quite smoothly, it was only in close quarters that I felt that I had a small disadvantage.
