New Maps

Post by Tommygun »

In the excitement of the 1.3 release I think we have all overlooked the mappack that came out about a week before the 1.3 launch. Is there any chance we could run them on a server as they were very good indeed I thought.
It certainly seems we have more full servers now since 1.3 as people get enouogh time with the game to get addicted.

They were older maps that were already in PR and got reworked, most people seemed to hate them. And because they are unpopular they never get played.

I think he is talking about the PRTA Mappack, including 9 brand new maps

[R-DEV]Ninja2dan: Not having a spotter is like masturbating with a cheese grater...mildly amusing at first, but generally painful and bloody in the end.

Thornehaw: If all this have been evidently true, Battlefield is a much scarier and dirtier than ever imagined. Not a conspiracy, but a possibility. If it is true, then trusting another is quite worrisome.

Oh those, those are only for events because otherwise everybody would need to download them. From time to time you will find a map test event on one of the bigger servers (primarily PRTA and NEW), you can then download the map in advance and if you want you can already explore it before the event starts.

I feel if everyone can download PR at 6GB or so they can get the event maps. It would be great if the updater in PR could also get maps. Run them and people will download them. Its a curtsey to the people who have spent time making the maps too...as well as some being awesome.

Doesn't quite work that way given the data has to be hosted somewhere, the installer's size needs to be acceptable.

I'm sure the PRTA mappack is quite fun and I'm sure it'll return after a while, mappacks always do once the gameplay of the new build has stabilised. I personally am quite interested in getting old maps 1.3 ready purely for PRSP purposes (if I get time, Job is busy atm).

There's also lots of WiP maps that show promise, there's also PRF to consider which will return in time...so there's lots more GB to be DLed in due time.

Well, if they could recode the autoinstaller for the .95 mappack, it'd be rather easy, considering 70% of the maps don't even require changes excluding the localization and some factions?

making a installer is rather easy so it's definitly an option for the community to make one.
