Re: Critical Error
Is there Project Reality 1.2 Installed? The two may cause a conflict, and my theory is that's what causes this error.
One fix you could try is setting the profile as read-only and if it is set as read-only, uncheck it and recheck it.
Go to My Documents (XP)/Documents (Vista 7 8 10), right click on ProjectReality and select 'Properties', then click on the checkbox 'Read-Only' to untick it, and Apply. Then select 'Read-only' and tick it and press 'OK'.

- Right-click on the Profiles folder, and click on 'Properties' at the far-bottom
- At the bottom where you see Attributes, Click on 'Read-only (Only applies to files in folder) three times, and press Apply then OK
Not sure if it'll work, but worth a try.Daytrader wrote:Well i deffo uninstalled PR1.2, will look at making profile read only, will doing that work thou, as the game will not be able to write to thouse files anymore ?

Re: Critical Error
Making the Profile folder content read-only will cause this:
Code: Select all
--------------------
Launch Error
--------------------
1322: Error verifying profile settings. Please confirm the profile files are not Read-Only and try again. If the problem continues, try resetting all profiles to default in the Options menu.
--------------------
OK

Re: Critical Error
Is there any antiviruses running? You could add the PR directory to the antivirus exception list.
My guess would be a software conflict. Something's using that file that it shouldn't use, and it would make sense for anti-viruses/anti-spywares to cause that error message.

Re: Critical Error
I highly doubt that, as I do not even use the Windows Defender. I don't use any anti-virus for about 5 years now. No.Arab wrote:Is there any antiviruses running? You could add the PR directory to the antivirus exception list.

I'm getting the same error. Randomly happens. nothing for a few days then three times today. Have re-done profile and checked security settings.
It's starting to really pee me off!!
Set AV exceptions for game folder and profile folder. ..Testing!

Col. Cal Rhodes: Ground team, you're up that trail, you've got the grid coordinates. Air team you follow me down this creek. We'll that's it...it's game time. I had a speech prepared, but I guess I forgot it. There are some lines from Julius Caesar.. 'If a man were to know the end of this day's business ere it come; But it suffice that the day will end, and then the end is known. If we meet again, well then we'll smile, and if not then this parting was well made.'

Re: Critical Error
I found the solution.
Got that same error randomly when editing some files.
Backup any files from ProjectReality that you might need before attempting this.
1. In My Documents/Documents delete 'ProjectReality'
2. In Program Files/Project Reality/mods/, copy 'pr', paste it and rename the copy to pr_edit
3. Run pr_edit by going to the bin folder, and double-click on PRLauncher.exe
4. Retreive the account you want to use again, and launch it
5. Create any local game and join it. This is to build the profile. Exit.
It should work now. It's weird since it's random. I then used the old profile folders and it worked too.

I dont have enough space on my drive to copy the 7 GB pr folder, so this has stopped all your crashing, sometimes i can go hours without crashing, did game always crash for you before then, and now not crashing at all ?, how long have you played now without it crashing, thx

As for the profile issue, try uninstalling PR, restart and reinstalling. It's definitely a bug, so I'll check with the devs if it's known.P.A wrote:Found the solution - DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer

It has downloaded all necessary components, now game is working!
