I don't know what the problem with sniper rifles is for you, I've never heard anyone say they can't hit targets at 500m. Cause thats wrong. All weapons have drop at all ranges. But its only noticeable beyond 400m.
If you want to give a headshot beyond 400m you already have to aim above the head, no matter the rifle.
You can hit anything you see, but unlike in other games it takes actual skill to do that in PR. With some practice 600m shots and beyond aren't a problem.Marksman/sniper rifles cannot hit a target 500m away.

That is strange though, as I have always heard it to be 600m (both on the forums and in game). Never tried to confirm it my self though.

and this is to prevent Run and gun gameplay and forces you to think ahead of what weapon to use in certain situations

If you really can't hit anything you are pretty bad at this game, these rifles shoot like lasers now compared to how they used to be.
It only takes 1-2 seconds to lay down an accurate shot in PR.
I mean, you literally must be constantly running around like a chicken with its head cut off, spraying and praying, thinking you should be able to hit everything you want just because you want.
That is not how shooting works in real life, just in Call of Duty.
IRL you do actually have to take a second to hold still and then aim your rifle to lay an accurate shot, full auto or no.
If you can't do that, then you won't be missed around here.
here u have to wait 6 seconds to be fully aimed and even with waiting it isnt as accurate as the real thing... the bullets seem to fly way off .. like u didnt set the sights right

biatlon sifle is preatymuch a normal rifle that is lighter ... and soilders dont run for 5-10km nonstop...most of the time guys are walking... so the effect is preatymuch the sameJutsch wrote:Biathlon rifle =/= Assault rifle

Im sorry but ive never seen a biatlon getting shot at have you? seems pretty quiet when they are shooting.

So, at the end of the day, we all know it's not realistic. It's game-y. It's the best solution available with the technology we have.

You should know that biatlon is a .22 lr , it's not powerful COMPARED to an assault rifle, it has almost no recoil,you shoot slower,and if you want to be really accurate you have to steady for 10 sec.
It must be a joke,and still, you must be bad at aiming, because if I want to shoot someone, I just crouch wait 2 sec, fire and hit 90% of the time,and even if you don't hit him, you supress him.

Deviation is something everyone looks passed to enjoy PR, I don't think anyone wants it, we just have no better option. Maybe OP can think of a new system that works within the confines of the framework PR has to work with, maybe not but as a new guy I think everyone has at some point said "FUCK DEVIATION SUCKS". It's just not everyone decides to go and post a thread on it, although over the years there have been quite a few.
Guys, you need to stop with the kneejerk reactions to these kinds of posts, Mineral did a spot on job <3
I score kills at edge of view distances with the sniper rifles on a consistent basis, it's not difficult at all if you practice and don't force a shot you aren't likely to make.

Shooting a rifle does let you know how rounds travel and how accurate they can be. The thing is, the deviation is also based on combat aiming. If you sit on a training map (Bootcamp) and use the range, you'll notice your firing is very accurate when your completely motionless and waiting several seconds between shots. So the accuracy is there, but because of all the variables that affect your aim in-game, the accuracy is also not there.
