Hey, can you guys mind playing different maps? As well as be more aggressive while admining? People don't learn. And, is mumble squad leader radio chat spam allowed? (Not really spam... just CONSTANT TALKING from one guy.)

As some of you have seen from Surface's recent thread, he has resigned from his position as Senior Administrator. However unfortunately due to some recent occurrences after posting his resignation I feel obligated to update everyone on the situation.

Surface originally resigned in response to an overruled executive decision he had made to discharge one of our server administrators. The administrator in question had (by his own accord) made a mistake when issuing a server command which resulted in a player kick instead of a resign, additionally the administrator was accused of relative inactivity.

After an appeal from said administrator, myself and Reaper (the community director) felt that the decision to discharge was made prematurely and for insufficient reason. Via a moderation/administration overruling (originally established by Surfacerunner himself) we requested that Surface reinstate the administrator in question until a more severe infraction was made, or until we were able to investigate the situation more thoroughly. Surface refused to reinstate the administrator, and in response asked to resign from Free Candy Van.

After Surface's seemingly civil resignation, multiple reports were made of Surface directly messaging current and recruited administrators asking them to resign from administration. This direct retaliation against our server infrastructure is of course unacceptable, and from our perspective exceedingly unprofessional. As a result Surface has been banned from the forums and server to stem any additional attacks or attempts of subterfuge.

In light of these events, we are already compiling a list of current administrators from within our administration team to fill the role of senior administrator for the Free Candy Van server. Additionally, we will be taking this opportunity to overhaul the current administration subforum to be much simpler, focused, and efficient.

Thank you so much to our community and staff for bearing with us during these difficult times. We are no stranger to complications, and Free Candy Van will (as always) persevere. We appreciate your patience during these matters, and we expect the server to continue operations as normal during this transition. Here's to looking forward, and keeping Project Reality alive. Though, fuck it. This is the most fun server out there so to see someone resign over such a triffle probably means he doesn't fit in there.

Yesterday I was playing on your server with no admins on it at the time, and while I was playing on it, a group of people decided to have an extremely racist discussion in all chat like it was Reddit or something. Despite numerous requests for them to stop chatting, these requests only lasted a few seconds due to the amount of chat, and those that did last more than a few seconds were completely ignored. However I do not remember their names. It would be greatly appreciated if you can look into this to at least warn them from flooding the chat again. The map was Lashkar valley, AAS, sometime around 12:00 Central time.

I realize having admins on 24/7 is a difficult task, however in the new influx of seemingly immature and trollish players I have seen on several servers, I hope you can try to have at least one admin on most of the time, to set those players straight or filter them out, and improve the quality of the server and hopefully of PR overall.

If you could, please log their names and report them on our website with any evidence you can provide. We're in the middle of recruiting more administrators for the server now, so hopefully in the near future you'll start seeing it be more regularly staffed.

We've been having trouble with our server properly connecting with mumble recently, so we'll be shutting down until we get the issue fixed. Hopefully it shouldn't be longer than a day or two.

Just noting, this is still a thing. The server is unreachable most of the time, my in-game server browser fails to query anything apart from player count and current map. Not sure if it's a per-server issue or something with 1.3.1, but haven't seen this happen anywhere else.

Yes, the ping issue is big for me when playing on this server. I think since it is located in Canada, the internet pipes must be going through a maple grove and they have maple syrup gumming things up. hehehehehehe

Outside of this, usually an ok server to play on now.

Everyone knows we don't have a very active admin base between 2AM and 6AM... like there are just not many people awake, so its hard to get consistent staff online around then.

However, when I wake up I check the chat logs & Prism... and when I find trolls/teamkillers/hackers I ban them on the spot using winSCP. Like we log everything you all do, just because there aren't admins on doesn't mean you're suddenly homefree to be a cockatoo lol

PM me or anyone marked as senior admin on our forums, we have a lot of conscript admins so reports on staff at this time is very welcome. You can also use our website report forms to report staff, it automatically is forwarded to the appropriate channels. I'll ensure you aren't infracted against for any reports against administration.

Today I was warned that I would be kicked from FCV because of 1 accidental teamkill on a stupid motherfucker that ran up the stairs without saying friendly was coming up the stairs while everybody else around was shouting that there was enemy coming up the stairs from the ground floor. It was bullshit. Was about to TK my way to a ban and never come back but decided against it.

... a warning for a tk is like... the most non-serious thing server admins can do. They aren't telepathic, they don't always know EXACTLY what is happening. So issuing a standard warning on someone who teamkills (even accidentally) is our standard process, to ensure players know they're being watched.

However if you start threatening going on teamkill rampages in response to something as trivial as a warn then maybe we should ban you preemptively to keep that from happening. Don't push it.
