Project Reality crashing after launch on Windows 10.

My computer just updated to Windows 10 last night, and now it seems that PR doesn't work. The launch menu opens fine, but once I hit play, it loads as if its opening the game, the screen turns black, and with in a half second or so it returns to my desktop with a message saying "PR:BF2 closing, cleaning up resources...". I've tried reinstalling the game, as well as installing an older version of DirectX. I ran through the trouble shoot a few times, and still had no luck.

If anyone so far has had the same problem, and figured out how to fix it, let me know. I only recently started playing PR and this sucks.

On topic: try running game in widowed mode and see if any error appears.

If you upgraded and didnt do a clean install I suggest you reinstall PR completely.

I also recommend a clean install for performance reasons, I've noticed a 20% difference generally.

Get a spare USB drive with at least 3Gb and use the media creation tool to create a bootable USB W10 installer. It's fairly simple, (google)

I had the same problem after a clean Windows 10 install. I installed a steam game so it would update my DirectX and VC+++, which fixed it.

Excuse me for bumping this thread, I was having similar issues and fixed it by installing Direct X 9

I have win 10 and PR works fine i mean, at least it runs: sometimes i have huge FPS drops
