By the way, I wasn't asking to make the BMP more deadly (imo the BMP-2M is currently the best IFV ingame), I was merely asking if it is possible to have a "selector switch" for the rate of fire of the 2A42 30mm cannon, as currently it only uses the fast rate of fire, but the slow one might be useful too. Fast rof and increased overheat time was never my intention.

I think overall most IFVs (with the exception of the Warrior) are pretty good and don't need much rework, they are deadly enough and yet susceptible to LATs (and rightfully so).

There's other things about armor that really need to be reworked (MBT balance, especially those ATGMs that kill in just one hit).

BMP is like a mini tank.

LAV has no chance vs a Bmp. Unless the LAV is firing first and the BMP isn't locating the lav.

I think the BMP is fine. The fire rate on it will demolish most apcs currently. Or limit on the amount of ammo bmp can hold for AP.

I see what hurricane is saying. Which I agree for the bmp would be good.

Will this fuck up the barrel? Yes. Will it make the crew compartment fill up with gun powder smoke? Sure. Could it cause an internal fire due to extractor fan not working fast enough? Probably. Will they still do it if they fire at an enemy APC? Most likely.

They fired atleast 100+ rounds there by my estimate. Impossible to count though due to bad quality.

You suggesting an increase in time it takes to overheat? I dont see the reason we should allow prolonged continuous fire and your video proofed that it isnt done as well. A more reasonable approach would be fast overheating+fast cooling down. This way you can do lots of bursts just like the video showed.

Different fire modes are not possible. Selecting the ROF would only be doable by having 2 mag linked weapons, one for fast and one for slow firing.

This would actually be super good. ATM when you "overheat" it takes a pretty long time cooling down and can be quite detrimental to gameplay. One round too many and you're unable to return fire for 5-15 seconds.
