Not sure if any devs have said anything about this but is there any headway on figuring out what exactly is causing CTDs so frequently? Even potential fixing of the CTDs in a future patch?
Just a salty CAS pilot that CTD'd mid flight. >.>

Which CTD are you talking about ?
The one server side while playing? The one server side when changing map ? Or the massive client crash on a restricted area on the map (due to a visual effect bug for example) ?

Reduce your texture settings, try again.

assetruler69: I've seen things you smurfs wouldn't believe. Apaches on the Kashan. I watched burned down tank hulls after the launch of the single TOW. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to give up and respawn.

lot of coop maps not working client side because of ?"something missing"? in the client package, so server can run em but the clients cant, that'd be a nice fix --- also sounds for british guns from 1.2 were a lot better, i'd say going backwards in sound quality/engineering is a bug

All CTDs. Client and server-side.

Ha, you think the dev's can fix CTD. When pigs fly!
This is something totally out of their control.

Mineral has been hard at work sorting out client side crashes for our next patch, server side is a whole other beast though.

People have to realize how complex and deep PR is included in BF2 nowadays. Even though every DEV was always extremely cautious with adding or changing stuff in PR and everything was always organized with professional project management software to notice when a commit causes problems, over the years more and more sporadic problems sneaked into PR which simply cannot be traced back anymore. And this is not avoidable if you take a look at the features PR has to offer which were never supposed to be in BF2 vanilla. To achieve some of the common features which might not seem special to us, DEVs had to take so many detours and bend completely independent game mechanics into all kinds of other directions to get what they wanted. Its insane if you look behind the scenes and realize how certain features were actually done.
its like you have a '3' but want to have a '1'. Sadly you don't have a '2' which you could simply use to subtract, so you take a 'T' and cut off its 'arms' on the left and right.
The engine is stretched to its limits like a hookers *** and its inevitable if it tears up a little from time to time...
well, you get the idea.
Nevertheless coders are working hard on removing possible crash causes all the time. What can be done, gets done.

Temporarily back on a 32bit OS from a 64bit - loads of CTD's.
