Texture Quality

Post by KingOfPassion »

Greetings guys

I have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, and even though my texture quality is actually set on " High " settings, textures in game are so poor maybe they are in fact on " Medium " if not " Low " . I tried the 3gb ram fix even though it's not for this particular situation but it didn't work, so any ideas how to get this fixed ?

And thanks for your help

It's an old game and some textures weren't updated in the PR mod. The best thing you can do is turn all the settings to high and use an ENB to improve the graphics \ shaders.

post a screenshot?

high textures isn't really as high if you're comparing them to newer games. BF2 has a max memory of which textures can be put in, so it's impossible to even touch them without exceeding the critical number

Well, i know that PR:BF2 is nothing close to newer games when it comes to graphics but the textures quality i'm talking about is the same one in game, such as the signs in Gaza Beach map the print on the A-10 Thunder and the textures of all the vehicles in the game when they are close they and also the weapons textures they all look poor and you can't figure out what that text or print means. i used to have them pretty good on my previous windows 7 32 bit system but that problem appeared when i upgraded to 64 bit .

P.S : I think i stated my problem clearly i will try to post a screenshot if you guys haven't understand me yet

try clearing your caches and verify that all your settings are high

Cleaned both Windows and applications cache using CCleaner, all of the settings are actually set on high....

that's not how you clear bf2 cache

Documents\ProjectReality\mods\bf2\cache

delete anything in cache folder
go in game, run an intensive map like yamalia or silent eagle for your first map

Cleared BF2 cache as you told me, then i started the launcher, when i clicked " play " an error message appeared saying that i should reset my settings to default, i did that then i switched my graphic settings back to high. However when started the map " Silent Eagle " i found out that textures quality hasn't been changed and that they are still poor ..... any other ideas ?

I'm embarrassed to say what was the problem, see i have 2 accounts and i was using the one with the default settings thinking it's the one with the high settings. So i'm sorry for causing you so much trouble trying to find the fix for the problem while it was my mistake and thank you :)
