Win10 Asus sound drivers problem; realtek popup

Post by Zyco187 »

just upgraded to windows 10 from win7 and i have downloaded my mother boards sound drivers and install them but i cannot get the realtek hd audio manager to play sound thru both my 5.1 speakers and headphones connected to front audio port. i think the problem is with when i first plugged the headphones into the front port the realtek popup box that comes up i had accidentally selected that i plugged in the green port on my motherboard bc thats what i had to do on my last set of drivers for win7

i have tried everything to get this to work uninstalling drivers and reinstalling them but no luck. do you know how i can get that popup box to reappear or know a different way to fix this. if not i guess i have to wait for asus to release new drivers

I have 6.0.1.7535 ALC892 on P8Z68V in the sound manager marked ASUS, in device advanced settings I have an option
Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously
Don't know if that helps (Win10h/64)

Headphones and speakers both on front or just headhones?

If just headphones untick Mute the rear otput device when a front headphone is plugged in.

For popup to show there is folder like icon here at ine which when clicked shows dialgue like this.

It is not the same motherboard or audio chip but it is the same software.
