Post by BeerHunter »

Is there a way to test Mumble without joining a server .. ie to see if mic is working , volume and clarity.

There is no way to do a testing of your microphone in mumble that I know of.

When you have Mumble open(you can start it when not on a server via the Options in the PR Launcher):
Go Configure -> Settings
Check Advanced
Under Audio Output, set Loopback to Local
Hit Apply, and press your push-to-talk key
Tada

While we are at the subject, my mumble is not working. People can hear me, but I dont hear them and the icons of people talking on mumble are not flashing up either. I tried to restart mumble made sure I ain't muted or deafened and checked that the input and output drivers are selected correctly in mumble (they were). I tried deleting and retrieving my profile too.

Any idea what it is?

Sometimes when launching PR, and you can't see the mumble interface or you can't hear players, alt + tab and minimise PR, and terminate PR Mumble. It will auto launch again which usually fixes the issue.
