Guys please find out how to mark targets for CAS and laze

Just played against a team that only had one jet up at a time while we had all our jets up most of the time. But their team knew how to paint targets for CAS and got like 50 kill among which assets and fobs while our CAS had like 6 in the whold squad.

If you tend to squadlead and dont know how to use the binoculars to mark targets for CAS and paint (laze) them please find out.

The most annoying guys are the ones that scream over all squad radio, "I NEED CAS ON MY POSITION IMMEDIATELY!" As if I know exactly where you are on the map, Chuck. If you radio CAS and give no grid, target type, laze status, etc. then don't even call. It's imperative to use a strong asset effectively and plan according to the type of threat.

Learn to be patient, there aren't always opportunities for CAS to earn more tickets than it costs.

I think there should be a one question quiz each time you start the game (probably not possible in Refractor). If you get it right, you get to play. If you get it wrong something like 10 of 20 startups, you are locked out until you pass a long quiz about the manual.

I really like America's Army 2.x approach. In order to be a medic, you had to pass like 2 hours worth of training. To play on Special Forces maps, same thing (the final test way like an hour of crawling around). Same thing with snipers, etc. Hopefully we can get that in Squad.

Another issue is CAS whores. Round after round after round they are CAS... and they only respond to their friends in other squads. Then if they don't get their cas spot, they just screw around and whine.

But I agree with Op.

Learn to lase. It only takes like 3 seconds to lase. If you do not know how to lase... you shouldn't be a squad leader. And if you need a lase... DON'T ALL SQUAD LEADER CHAT IT. Talk directly to the CAS squad.

Yes - I recall a very good post about Infantry working with CAS.
Suggest the OP find it and add it to the thread. It would help his cause. Not everyone knows how to laze or work with CAS.

Well usually its one side where cas gets killed and the other side racking up kills with it. Unless there is no collaboration with CAS then it just hangs about if its jets.

Here is what you can do to help CAS. Use the one shot you have in the HAT to take out the AA then laze it for cas to finish it if its an emplacement. Then you can go about lasing at your hearts leisure.

Of course there are quite a lot of people already doing that. We just need more people doing that in order to not have one team wiping out half the enemies tickets with CAS alone while it is useless on the other side even if in the air. Not very balanced.
