This server's quality is abysmal. Constant all chat spam. Constant mumble spam on round start as well as music spam during the round. Admins themselves spamming music on mumble as well as that same admin that was threatening a player member by holding their IP hostage (which he got from PRISM). There is an intense lack of quality on this server.

We hold our team to a higher quality than this, please if you can give me a date and name and they will be dealt with, OR please post a report on our forums here http://www.bluedrake42.com/community/forums/

Report foul play on our website and it will be dealt with, its there for a reason.

Otherwise all chat spam isn't an issue. We crack down to keep it from becoming excessive from time to time... however other servers are unreasonably harsh on it for little to no reason, so that's merely a preference of yours... not a lacking on our part as far as I'm concerned.

Same with mumble spam on round end/loading, and music spam during rounds. Welcome to Project Reality my friend. We try and crack down on it when it becomes a severe problem, but if its something that just mildly annoys you from time to time... its not something I see as an issue.

However, the holding an IP hostage is an issue. If you report that admin and your report is confirmed they will be fired immediately. Also I'd just like to point out that administrators do not require PRISM to log an IP. Most of our admins don't even have PRISM access honestly. Battlefield 2 servers automatically log player Hash numbers and IP addresses upon joining.

Anyways still an issue, just not related to PRISM.

All chat that lasts for +5 minutes is an issue. I sadly deleted the footage recorded.

It was an admin spamming mumble and still continued after we told him to stop, and the admin had PRISM access, this is where he said he got the persons IP. I don't recall his name, but he was British.

No, you see, other servers I visit, including EU servers, don't have this issue, and if the issue does arise, you tell an admin, and it gets dealt with.

I mean okay... to you maybe? Also there's a difference between spam and just talking in all chat. If it's actually spam... like saying the same thing over and over again, then that's spam. If its just people talking over all chat, then its just people talking over all chat. If it really was SPAM then I could see that being a problem, but I'm not thinking that's what you're talking about here.

What was the general time and date so I can check our logs.

I'll say it again. Other servers are unreasonably harsh on it for little to no reason, so that's merely a preference of yours... not a lacking on our part as far as I'm concerned. We try and crack down on it from time to time, but normally its not an issue.

Maybe you should just bind mute buttons to Mumble for end of rounds, and for pre-2:00 briefing. Now if they're spamming music over officer comms that's an issue, if they're spamming over squad then just kick them, if they're spamming over local just report them and walk away. Doesn't mean we'll kick them or anything, but at least we'll know someone is being annoyed by it and we'll look into it.

Yea, it's not that big of an issue seeing a big wall of text right in your face with people arguing over what kind of dipping is best.

There is a line between being "unreasonably harsh" and actually administering your server.

That's a flat out lie. or you consider it normal when people spout poop on round start I've noticed it to be especially bad on FCV when I hop on it at night it's really frustrating when I'm trying to brief my Squad. (muting isnt exactly an option). I would really want an increase in enforcment what you call "unreasonably harsh" you ask people to be quiet in a nice way and they answer like idiots and noone seems to care. I don't have this issue on any other Server I play on.

People bashing FCV on allowing players to talk to each other. What?
You will not grasp her with your mind or cover with a common label, for Russia is one of a kind - believe in her, if you are able...

No,.. people are bashing the mumble spam on FCV.

I had good rounds on FCV lately and it's fun to play on, but briefing time & round ending mumble spam is absolutely horrible. Insta mumble mute for me and alot of others aswell.

I understand that people are excited when they win a match but especially the breifing time spam is an absolute no go. It is called briefing time for a reason, how are you supposed to brief your squad or sort out a battleplan with your CO or other SLs when there is constant chatter about nonsense all around.

And asking politely doesn't help.
Getting mad makes it even worse, and admins don't seem to care or/and tolerate it.

Yeah okay, I don't think you guys understand that I exclusively play on my server, and I'm fine with it. The mumble and chat "spam" doesn't bother me or other people 99% of the time. Its a preference, not a rule. We deal with it if it becomes excessive (like someone blasting max distortion to disrupt the server) and those people will be banned... however people just goofing off, or being ridiculous at map end, I don't care.

If I didn't play every week and know exactly what you're talking about I'd be more concerned, but I do. Its not that annoying. Just loosen the stick a little more from your rectum and you'll be fine. If you really care that much just take off your headphones. Or find a mute button (not that hard) or if that's somehow beyond you then find another server. Dunno wtf you want.

If its really that bad then post recordings of it here and I'll look into it, but if its not any worse than those videos I posted above then you should be strapping in for the long haul.

Basically what you're saying is that idiots that enjoy mic spamming (whom make up quite a large portion of your player base) should be allowed to do exactly that and disrupt the briefing time. And if they "really care that much" about it then remove their headphones and NOT brief their squad at all.

I'd expect the owner of one of the most popular PR servers; one that many new players first play on, to actually manage stuff like this.

Yeah, this is why most veterans avoid FCV. It caters to a totally different audience than what PR is used to.

The only reason HOG has a bad reputation from the last year or so is because the players on FCV get used to acting however the hell they want and having no repercussions. Then when FCV is not populated they get on HOG or other servers and get told to straighten their shit out. They aren't used to playing PR how the rest of the community does, so they ***** and moan.

That's the truth.

I wouldn't say that it was the only reason but I did not play on HOG for a while as ive been avoiding it too. I know HOG and FCV hates eatch other guts.

When FCV was offline due to technical issues or something we did notice an increase of player population at late Night on our Server and the playerbase was so bad that I decided to instead shutdown the Server at Night so they don't play here. Just saying.

Did anyone watch Lirik's stream when he mostly played on FCV? Probably gave 20.000 of his watchers the wrong idea of PR aswell welp....

Certain kinds of players are attracted to certain kinds of servers. It's good for the community that we have servers that cater to different player bases. And truthfully, that's just what FCV's player base is, different. I noticed it myself when I was a part of the PRTA NA admin team. If FCV wasn't popped or was down for one reason or another, we'd notice an influx of unfamiliar players who clearly played with a different style and carried a different attitude about them. I'm really not trying to say there is anything wrong with that, it just makes it abundantly clear that a diverse server choice is a good thing for the future of PR. All that being said, I don't want that to be perceived as an insult against FCV, it's obviously a tremendously successful server and I have had fun playing there.

Blue, you know me. You know I've got nothing against you and I respect what you've done for PR. But to just say that mumble spam is a non-issue because you play there and when you're on it doesn't bother you is simply an anecdotal fallacy. I believe that you know and understand your community very well but to brush something off like that because you've talked to people that said it didn't bother them and the fact that it doesn't bother you isn't a very thorough counter-argument.

I have not once seen someone disciplined/removed from the server due to mumble spam, be it during the pre-round timer, over local, or after the round. At times it is quite literally ear-splitting and unbearable. I don't mean to imply it's a constant thing because it isn't, but I do believe it's something your admin team could do well to improve on.

Chef
It is though. It is constant, on every round. I played more often on FCV recently. Trying to organize transport during briefing time is impossible. They simply don't hear you on squad chat. Its always: hoping to spawn close to one of the choppers and hoping the pilot is capable of understanding your trans request and at the same time taking off without delay. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and we arrive when enemies are already 2 flags further than we are. Thats the times I really get mad.

Gameplay-wise the server is ok. During game squads mostly respond to you and often there is a CO around doing UAV stuff. Was worse in the past. I gladly join FCV nowadays for some relaxed rounds.
