off-topic Sniper/Recon Hate !!

yes its going to be raging but i like to share my experience !

i have a question why we have a sniper kit if everybody think its useless and not helping out the team !

here the drama and the story :

i was playing on Operation Marlin and i said : hey this is a good map for sniping and the flag layout is very suitable for this mission !

me and my spotter managed to make our way to the T building near the MEC base and on our way we give info about enemy tank movements at the City !

spotted a MEC Mortar SuperFOB and used localsqaud-leader chat if we have mortars

some one keept bitching about me when i give info to all SL and spotted several valuable Targets

after a successful rape and shelling to the MEC FOB and directly talked to the guy who was bitching about my spam on SL chat !(while i directly used squad 5 which i was giving him specifice info where to attack)

after i talked to guy and i said why you bitching about me im just giving info as i should do all the time as a Sniper/Recon !

then i got kicked from the server !

why ?!! giving info is a chat spam !!!?
or its sniper hate !
i like to be a Recon and a sniper behind enemy lines and help my team !

i would like to hear Advice from you guys since im ''noob''

what should i do next i encounter these Faggots while they ***** about some one who is sniping ! (sorry for Harsh language )

You know, you can go commander and get this big fucking eye in the sky, and you dont even get shot at! Crazy rimes we live in.

Either way, he was probably bitching at you because your an SL with a sniper kit, and you either were in a 2-man locked squad which is banned on most servers, or you were pretty much running a free kits squad.

Had good results with my own recon squad yesterday, took down a BMP, SPG techie, AA Truck and a cache, Velve got like 15 kills with his sniper, with only 6 deaths in an 8 man squad(I originally wanted to have a squad of 4 but people kept asking me, no h8 plx) something over the span of a 90 minute game. A few more cache would've been nice but Connez ninja'd the last two before we could stage an attack :<

We were running a recon element with 5 guys in Lashkar valley the other night, one sniper, one marksman, one spotter, medic and officer.
Our only shots were at high priority targets like RPGs, techies etc. The rest of it was providing Intel and maneuvring.

The trick when doing recon: Don't spam the SL channels with info. Keep in mind that even though it's silent in your end, the SLs on the other end might have a lot of comms going internally or directly between 2 SLs. When you hear all kinds of blabber from a wannabe speshul ops snipur about where there's a single infantry-man, on the opposite side of the map, it gets really tiring.

Filter it out! If you see a tank, mark it on the map, relay the info to the tank squad and possibly CAS. If infantry is close to it, chances are they are aware of it due to the loud engine, no need to tell them.

Don't use the all-SL-chat unless you don't have time to look up the APC squad when you see a Gary coming for them or other info that you feel ALL the team really need to know urgently.

Put yourself in the shoes of a inf squad leader and think of how annoying it is hearing one guy having a monologue in the SL chat.

Sorry for the rant, but when reading this I feel like taking a stand with the ones getting tired of constant "intel" as I find it more often than not just jamming my comms.

Not saying that I know that happened the night you were kicked or how you were communicating though, just a general view on it.

Recon is useful when the recon squad makes it useful for the SLs they are relaying it to, like calling out a full inf squad flanking a friendly squad from behind to the squad in question.

I will say though, INS maps are the only time a sniper squad shines. We've gone near 60-80 kills with just the snipers in the squad, but then again, you have to do good for it to happen in the first place.

you were probably spamming squad leader chat with -excuse me- poor English so someone just got fed up. My opinion is that squads can have their own spotter-sniper teams. CAS squads can have their own small spotter team, Tank/APC can have their own and so on. Making "independent" spotter-sniper squad is waste of squad space you deserve to be shouted at since they don't really do anything useful. What you can do in ~30 min, commander can do in >5 min.

Mortar fob can be located without sniper-spotter squad anyways. Just listen and learn to locate by sound.

yeah, you got kicked for a reason.

If you want to be the #1 hated player on your team, be sure to be a newbie and make "SNIPER" squad.

I was on that round. My SL (Stompa) was constantly complaining to us about the tremendous SL channel spam that was coming from you. Apparently you were reporting way too much unnecessary stuff non-stop. And when he asked you to keep the comms clear you doubled the spam. He started to report you when you didn't listen to the other SLs and probably got you finally kicked after some time.

But Stompa should be able to give more feedback regarding that round when he sees the thread.

Locked Snipers squads are generally accepted if they are used within a 3 or more men squad. If they actually provide good and reliable up-to-date info and farm some good kills so they end up with a good K/D. But this kind of intel should be provided via map markers unless it is about to directly affect someone from your team. Nobody cares if there are 2 dudes running down a road on the other side of the map. Worst case use the team chat for such things.

Also a tip: Overly excessive use of MilSim comms often makes you look ridiculous and people won't take you serious. Stompa was telling us how you were saying "Over" after literally every sentence and generally according to him your way of communicating was a little over-the-top try-hard milsim. Just talk normally and stick to the general comm-discipline.

But this guy seems to always go 2man locked sniper squads and sit somewhere in the middle of nowhere and just spam shit repeatedly no matter the relevance. Seen it twice. But you got kicked for singing to me in SL comms and spamming for the purpose of just annoying me, because you got so offended by people telling you to stop spamming. You where repeating the same shit over and over again like "THIS IS SNIPER SQUAD WE GOT KILLED BY ENEMIES" in allchat. When i told you to stop u said "UMAD BRO UMAD BRO, HEY GUESS WHAT and then started singing".
Also you where talking to the mortar squad in allchat for a good 2 minutes. But I guess you never actually played proper infantry and realize that you actually need to communicate with your squad and listen to footsteps etc when needed. That kick was well deserved.

I've done recon squads plenty times. I tend to have 4-6 players. I never grab the sniper kit as a squad leader though.

Communicate with certain squads will help a LOT.

I think you answered your own questions in your post.

If you were as elitist and disrespectful on the squad chat as you have been in this post, any admin would of kicked you. And they should.

Chat spam is a kickable offense.

Squad Leaders are trying to communicate to the 7 people in their squad, other squads, the Commander, CAS, TRANS, and the "Smurfs" near by. No one needs a constant ear full from anyone while they are trying to get things done.

People don't hate snipers. Infantry squads hate snipers. Simply because they are not adept enough to follow the squad through firefights, and they need a spotter. That means 2 people out of 8 are gonna be a Recon team.

If you want to play sniper, make your own group and then work with the other squads and the commander giving them intel, spots etc. If you look up Bluedrake42 on Youtube you can see some of his sniper videos and he's a God at it.

The final thing is that too many new guys, and generally people take sniper expecting it to be easy. Either they waste the kit, dying before even getting a kill or they purely farm kills with a spotter and don't go for important targets or don't spot/communicate.

The latter isn't even an issue. If I see a sniper guy with 20 kills, but he is sitting in the middle of nowhere, then I am totally OK with that. The dude knows what he is doing, he seems to be successful at being far away from the actual action so why bother him. He is draining enemies tickets and keeps probably a whole squad busy trying to take him down.

But that sadly rarely ever happens and in almost all cases it ends like you said in the beginning.
