Accumulation of intelligence points when two caches are revealed why?

Post by fabioxxxx »

This is bugging since it was changed, before when two caches where revealed the next one would take some time to appear, but now it's too fast.(asking the dev's, they said now the intelligence points accumulate when there are two caches revealed)

The BLUFOR can just sit in the best one of the two caches and win free intelligence points for a third cache... the cache hunt is over, but we have action non stop.

Perhaps some one can explain the why of this change, so i can put it to rest...

i am not making a suggestion, i just wanna know why

Thanks : )

Good Evening,

The Intel points needed for a cache is now 50 and this is the reason the next one becomes known so fast. You can watch the INS deaths and it will pop within 5 minutes of the next "50" deaths. It use to be 150. This TRAGIC DRASTIC MASSIVE reduction in the number of intel points needed is the issue, nothing else.

INS still win "a majority" of rounds according to the ask a dev thread.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

Must be new players flocking to blufor due to "1337 scopes" and "must be good guys."

Good Afternoon,

I have been hearing rumblings that there are some changes to the Intel Point system. I have yet to verify it in anyway and can't fully verify due to no visual method of monitoring IP.

Someone I was talking to this morning suggested that there be some kind of meter on a commander's screen that would help monitor the intel points.

Insurgency has been a regular, reliable landslide for Red since at least .9 and I can remember being really frustrated with the way the mode worked since at least .8, maybe earlier. The mode has been more or less unchanged since late 2007 with the introduction of the Collaborator in .6

That makes sense; it is because the less skilled players flock to blufor because of these magical(not really) scopes...etc. They run around like rambo (or camping "sniper")callofduty style and get killed by experienced player playing as insurgents, or just a random IED around the corner.

Recently I have seen plenty of mic-less blufor squad(yes they also exist on INS side, but it's much more terrible on BluFor) or "free kit" squad. I believe those are main "contributors" to insurgent success.

An organized BluFor team would be able to roll over insurgent team easily with proper setup of FOBs and squads covering eachother...etc.

It is by design that general pubs are more effective on insurgent team.

It is realistic, because "BluFor" hasn't "won" in real life either.

I'm sure you can find a ton of changes you missed by going to changelogs, especially number of caches.

Until someone post relevant data on winrate/other stats of insurgency mode, we will never know for sure.

Good Afternoon,

After playing on Blufor today on an Insurgent map, the caches pretty much popped up on queue with the deaths. At this juncture, I'm not inclined to say anything has really changed here.
