Re: trying to fix startup close
So my computer is not letting me uncheck the read only box. I mean, I can and I hit apply. But when I go back and check it, the box is still checked. I have given myself full control under the security tab so I don't understand what the deal is here

Have you downloaded and installed Direct X 9? That was the issue with my startup crash.

Not reverting. It has DX12 and DX9 but it is not complete it has only basic DX9 files.prWARs Akro wrote:No I have DX12? Do I need to revert in some way? Can I?
Get that and install it, reboot. If installer fails for some reason, unpack it with 7zip or WinRar and locate DXSETUP.exe and run it, again reboot. That is all. Besides that read the install instruction and install all dependencies.MaSSive wrote: Additionaly it does not matter that you have DirectX 12 you still need to install DirectX9c.
Download DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) from Official Microsoft Download Center

I did that multiple times over the course of uninstalling and reinstalling my OS and game, still no luck. This sucks.MaSSive wrote:Not reverting. It has DX12 and DX9 but it is not complete it has only basic DX9 files.

Re: trying to fix startup close
so I figured out what my problem was, and I feel retarded.
Turns out the resolution for my screen was set incorrectly in the game. the dims were right, but for some reason my refresh rate was wrong. kill me
