You go dead dead when you pick up any enemy kit for 10 seconds.

Fix pls.

I have also experienced this. You are dead dead 1 second after your screen become black.
Maybe it is not a bug, so you can't use enemy LAT, HAT or AA anymore. But I don't find anything in the changelog relating to the time you can keep an enemy kit.

Thx. Make it like it was before. It was just fine. Hard to time using enemy stuff, but not impossible if youre dedicated enough.

By the way you're thinking about it, it seems like an exploit. As the main idea is not supposed to be to pick up enemy kits at all. Of course, I myself abuse the system also for example to empty out enemy HAT kit by shooting at it air or dropping enemy C4 on the ground so he doesn't pick up those kits after dying.

But wasn't it supposed to be like this - "normal soldiers in battlefield don't pick up enemy team kits" the main reason being that it's arcadey, gamey and against everyting IRL?

To make things clear: I'm not totally against it as I remeber when I started playing in 0.91 I enjoyed picking up enemy ACOG kits as an insurgent, etc, and it was fun. But what's better - fun or 'reality'?

And what do you mean by "if you're dedicated enough"? Anyone can take a stopwatch, take the time it takes to die from holding an enemy kit and therefore anyone can use an enemy kit EFFECTIVELY if he knows the timing. Kinda goes aganst the idea of not picking up the enemy kits.

My suggestion (out side suggestion part of forums, so it's more like a discussion): do you think that the following could be implemented - for example, you kill an enemy HAT soldier, of course you want to dispose of his HAT so he doesn't pick it up (as you theoretically shouldnt have the time to hide this kit), maybe there could be some kind of way to do it through the commo rosie or something? Or give the SL the ability to KILL an enemy kit that's lying on a ground? It would simulate an incendiary dropped on a weapon to disable it (or a pseudosimulation of a guy hiding his enemies kit)? What do you think about that?

As picking up enemy HAT's and using them to kill enemy armor seems kinda gamey for a game that strives to suppress the ability to use enemy kits.

I liked .95's kit system the best, but I understand why the devs dont want people picking up enemy kits for the sake of realism. And because 90% of the time you identify contacts by weapon sound alone. But I do think you should be able to use enemy kits in a limited scope, my best memories are using enemy Insurgent kits on Basrah and infiltrating deep into enemy territory to do recon and eliminate HVTs. Other times picking up a scoped rifle really, really helps the insurgent cause.

How about a compromise?
  • Players can pickup and use enemy kits, but they can not resupply them(You can still take enemy rifleman kits and throw ammo, for your teammates, but you can not resupply that kit at all)

    It promotes a use it and ditch it playstyle(High Value kits can be used once so as not to deny the other team the usage of said kit)

    Be warned picking up an enemy kit will make you look like an enemy and if you get teamkilled it's your fault(The teamkill does not show up in the kill feed, only you and the teamkiller know)

I find they're useful mostly for getting their medical kits or ammo more than anything, which is really all they should be used for.
