On 1 July 1950, shortly after WWII, the Air Force transferred Davis Army Airfield to the United States Navy who established an anti-submarine warfare base there. Adak was most recently run by the U.S. Navy as a deployment base for P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft, primarily to conduct antisubmarine warfare operations against submarines and surveillance of naval surface vessels of the former Soviet Union.
With the fall of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, NAS Adak's operational viability as a front-line military installation began to wane, and in the mid-1990s a decision was made by the federal government to cease military flight operations there.
Because of its naval aviation past, Adak has an unusually large and sophisticated airport for the Aleutian Islands. The airport is currently operated by the State of Alaska Department of Transportation. Complete with an Instrument Landing System, Adak Airport has no control tower and two 200' wide asphalt paved runways at 19' elevation. One runway measures 7,790' long while the other runway measures 7,605'.
On 21.11.15 at 02:40 unmanned chinese space satellite discovered unusual activity in airport area, vehicles and infantry movements, aswell as deploying helicopter carriers.
To prevent possible attacks by USA from this area, Chinese Forces sending their troops to make preemptive strike on Adak Station.
Right before operation US helicarrier will be attacked by chinese airforces.
