PR BF2 Causes operating system to lag

Post by derpex »

Hi guys, I've got an interesting problem for a while now.

After launching PR and playing for a bit, and then tabbing out and trying to use any other program (e.g. opening Chrome, using any other program) it will lag like craaaaazy. It feels like a memory leak but PR doesn't lag at all if I tab back in, so it can't be that. I honestly have no clue what it could be. Anyone have a similar issue?

PC Specs:
cpu: AMD FX 8350
gpu: Nvidia GTX760 2GB
ram: Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1866 DDR3
mobo: Asus M5A97

Issue popped up after installing Windows 8.1 and installing PR. Nothing of note running in the background. Drivers & Windows up to date.

I also experienced the same problem the first time I played when Project Reality became a standalone. I love Project Reality but I can no longer play because of how it lags my computer as similar to derpex where if Tab out of Project Reality, it lags my computer but when I tab back in it doesn't lag my game. If I close the game itself my computer lags crazy!!! I really need help and I want to play this game again!!

Sounds like we're having the same issue. I haven't had any luck fixing it.

Wasn't there some issues with the PR launcher doing this?

Well I didn't have any problems with the PR launcher and I don't know if the launcher is causing this or not. Just that my whole computer lags after exiting PR
