Win 8 Crashes at Geometries

So i played PR about 2 years ago on Win7 just fine, decided to download and play again when everytime i go to join a server, it loads everything perfect until it hits geometries. It goes black screen and then it just crashes to desktop with no message or reason stating why, i really want to play but if its going to be a hassle ill just play ARMA 3 or S.T.A.L.K.E.R instead. If anyone knows a solution id really like that shit, Thanks

EDIT: Also, i have 2 Project Reality Shortcuts, first one says "Error 8:Unable to find BF2 directory, Please reinstall" and the other works besides crashing at geometries on every map and gamemode, so not sure if that has anything to do with it.
