Hi guys
So i've been wondering for a long time that whether this issue is on my side only, it's a PR issue or It's totally a bf2 engine issue.
So, teamviewer works great at the menus. but when you join a server, at the spawn screen, It can't move or control the mouse anymore.
Has anybody here encountered this problem? do you guys have teamviewer and a second machine lying somewhere to test this out?
Thanks
Cheers

Re: TeamViewer can't move the mouse anymore after joining a server
it's an issue for any remote desktop software
because it sends the absolute mouse coordinates on your screen (enough for 2d games\menus or desktop)
but 3d games mostly use relative coodinates (Δ how many pixels you moved your mouse)
so there's game-specific software for it (like steam in-home streaming)

Reset controls, sometimes bf2 loose them.

assetruler69: I've seen things you smurfs wouldn't believe. Apaches on the Kashan. I watched burned down tank hulls after the launch of the single TOW. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to give up and respawn.

I had this with VNC, everything worked great when you were in the menu, but when you were ingame, the mouse went all over the place. It was just waaaay too fast (I could still see the cursor). Fortunately, VNC came with some checkbox to counter that; "Relative Mouse Position" or "Relative Pointer Motion" or something is what it's called.
I don't have a teamviewer solution though, but perhaps VNC could be an option for you as well...

Is this case still true when the game is on windowed mode? because other games work fine for me when they're on windowed mode, but PR doesn't.sirfstar wrote:it's an issue for any remote desktop software

There's something to note though, PR doesn't go to windowed mode by the normal way of alt-entering, it needs to be forced by the launcher options.
I will look into this, thanks for bringing it up[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:I had this with VNC, everything worked great when you were in the menu, but when you were ingame, the mouse went all over the place. but there's a lot of different VNC implementations. Which one was that? Never seen any with such option[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:I had this with VNC, everything worked great when you were in the menu, but when you were ingame, the mouse went all over the place. Well it should be, any game where you control your camera without cursor most likely will not work with absolute cursor positionIs this case still true when the game is on windowed mode? because other games work fine for me when they're on windowed mode, but PR doesn't.

RealVNC. There's a free variant that has it as well.
Run the RealVNC Server on the... server... and run the Viewer on the client. Obviously
.
Here's a pic of the menu on which you can select the relative mouse position (by default it's opened by pressing F

Wow, I've always used realvnc but never knew about it. I even wrote my own client-server to pass a relative control and disabled mouse input in vnc'[R-DEV wrote:AfterDune;2110274']RealVNC. There's a free variant that has it as well.

talking about playing PR with it, how would one stream the sound and a mic input for mumble?

You don't want to play PR over VNC, that's way too slow, even on LAN. I'm sure there are better methods to do something like that.

I actually did when there was mumble 0.5, played as an apc driver, in 800x600 had about 30fps over ~40mbps network
there are some solutions that aren't free, there's also thing called "single player game transmitter" but it's worse than VNC and there's steam in-home streaming that requires to set up a vpn to fake LAN but it's the best one
