PR sound bug

Post by Fargoneseven »

I have a bug that causes my sound to glitch every time I start PR with my headset plugged in.
Upon startup my sound will switch between my monitor speakers and my headset rapidly (every two seconds). Sometimes it will stop after the logo fades away, resulting in loss of game sound (other sound still works, ONLY PR is affected (even mumble still works)). Other times it will continue indefinitely, even after PR is closed.

Changing settings has no effect. Screwing around in the mixer or control panel has no effect. Reinstalling drivers has no effect.

This problem arose without warning about six months ago (no settings were changed, no updates came out, all I did was close the game and start playing an hour later)

It followed me from win 7 up to win 10, so I'm pretty sure its not my OS.

Aside from the infuriating sound bug, the game plays fine.

I have a Logitec G35 headset.

At the time of writing this, my headset and speakers are not functioning (even though the computer says they are). If I restart my computer, everything will function normally until I start PR

What happens when you disable your display's speakers?

I've got some sort of a same problem.
Sound via my headphones fade away while playing PR and then come back to normal and so on.
Happens the most when I am in a vehicle with some constant sound. If I press squadtalk it restores the sound for a moment. It is really annoying and have it since I bought a new laptop.
Anyone else had this same problem? And have a possible fix?

Mries, try this: Go to Sound - Communications tab, and set it to "Do nothing".

No idea what the issue could be on your end Fargo.

Hmm thanks for the tip but I already did that in an earlier attempt to solve the issue

Edit: After some looking in my configuration and clicked some things I probably fixed it. Because the rounds I played afterwards were good on sound. Did not test it with vehicles though, so not 100% sure. Will probably post some screenshots later on what I did.
