[?] How to copy a bf2 faction?
Hello everyone, hope I'm in the right section.
I've been modding bf2 for some time now and now I'd like to copy the USMC faction.
I've found this page Help! Problem Creating A New Faction - Official BF Editor Forums
But I want to do it for Bf2, copy the full faction, with all the soldiers, kits, vehicles that would work fine. If anyone would be kind enough to write a step by step tutorial that I'd be very thankfull.
And how do you set the seat icon positions for vehicles ingame? When I add new seats, how can I make them appear in the ui instead of all appearing in the same spot?

'[R-DEV wrote:AncientMan']Think that's about it for a basic PR faction.
- Create soldiers
- Create kits
- Create voices if needed
- Edit faction_init.con to feature your new faction
- Create spawners
- Create flags
menu_client/nametag
menu_client/HUD/Texture/Ingame/flags/icons
menu_client/external/flashmenu/images/joingame- Create rallypoints, supply crates, vehicle depots, command posts (with texture edits to have the faction flag)
- Create supply trucks to use the new supply crates
- Edit python realityconfig_*.py files to have your new faction

To be more specific, help with the hud and customization side of things would be of the most benefit.

If youre talking about HUDs like in aircraft or vehicles, there isnt much on it.RUSSIAN147 wrote:To be more specific, help with the hud and customization side of things would be of the most benefit.

He means kit customization etc I believe on the spawnmenu; I'm sorry to say that for most of these things we use internal scripts to automate it which are part of our toolbox. We won't easily share those.

Ahhh I see. Well I guess that explains why it doesn't work even though it is an exact copy of the code[R-DEV]Mineral wrote:He means kit customization etc I believe on the spawnmenu; I'm sorry to say that for most of these things we use internal scripts to automate it which are part of our toolbox. Well from my experience it doesn't really need it. Works just fine without it. You just won't be able to take alt kits from spawnmenu. But everything else should work fine if you have the faction initiated and all correctly?

So if I get rid of the customization it should work if everything else is fine. I just noticed that the IDF Support kit doesn't use it so I guess i can get rid of it and see if it works. Thanks again Mineral
