Game crashes when loading the 2nd map

Post by Stalker[SpecOps] »

So I can launch and play an entire map and everything works fine. When the next map loads, it will either crash to the desktop then, or during the next game.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and have some suggestions as to how I can fix it?

So far, I have checked to make sure that the latest windows 10 updates are installed. I have also checked to make sure I have latest video driver for my video card. I have also gone into the support button in the PR launcher and purged cache and other files and re installed Punk Buster. I have also decreased most of the video settings to the lower levels.

Below, I have attached of the system information:

Up. I have the same problem: the game crashes while loading the second map, whatever it is. It happens at around 40%, "Loading sounds" if I'm not wrong. I am not on Windows 10 though!

see if you guys can play on windowed mode and try to replicate it, an error should pop up. i have suspicion it is memory related

Thanks for your tip. I recreated it in windowed mode, although I was once able to play two maps in a row, the error happened again with this message: http://imgur.com/1kNiGhG

Code: Select all

Debug assertion failed!

Version: 1.5.3153-802.0 Build date:
Module: RendDX9
File: C:\dice\Projects\BF2Branches\Patch_1_50\Code\BF2\RendDX9\RendDX9Draw.cpp
Line: 200

Text: Present returned unkown error. An undetermined error occured

Current confile:

CANCEL TRY AGAIN CONTINUE
Upon clicking on "try again", the game crashed.

So it looks this has to do with a specific line in a specific file. I tried to look for said file in my C: directory, but there is not even a "dice" folder in it. Puzzling...

in your case matto, i don't understand why you're getting this error. I suspect this has something to do with either bad memory handling or some file corruption. you could try overwriting these files and paste into your directory

make sure you guys are closing unnecessary resources in the background
make sure that the screen youre playing on is the main screen, if you use more than 2

This is what I get by overwriting those files:

Code: Select all

File Verification Error

1311: Error verifying the integrity of the following file:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\renddx9.dll

This may be caused by unauthorized file modifications, hard drive corruption, or file permission errors.

To fix this issue, please reinstall Battlefield 2.
Silly me for not keeping a backup of the original files. Well, I guess I'll just reinstall from scratch and see if all problems get fixed this way.
