Re: PRTA EU2
Hello there and thank you for your feedback.
We the PRTA Game Dept. decided to remove the !admin command for many reasons. Here some of them.
first, each ! command that someone type the server response will put more stress on the server (which we all know that PR servers are very unstable).
second, we recently re-active PRISM, PRISM users wont show up when you type !admin.
third, when people type !admins and get a response that there is no admin online they tend to break the rules and troll all around the server.
forth, users with switch rights (leaders) will show up as admins, what cause a lot of confusion in the server who is an admin and who's not.
there are probably more, i just cant recall all of them.
hope this answer will satisfy you.

Some of you might not be sure what we mean when we speak of leaders. Spec is not talking about PRTA leadership but about the unit/clan leaders of units/clans which are part of PRTA.-=SPEC=- wrote: forth, users with switch rights (leaders) will show up as admins, what cause a lot of confusion in the server who is an admin and who's not.
Every unit/clan leader in a PRTA unit has been granted switch rights on our servers in return for their contribution. The only way to give them switch rights is to create a low level admin group with just one permission. Switch. As we have quite some units in our community it often looks like as we have a million of admins online. Even though most of them are 'just' leaders with no permission nor ability to actively administrate the server. Like spec mentioned this caused some issues with players complaining about bad administrating even though the target of the complaint was not an admin.
Also players on the server often have been disappointed about their reports not being recognized even though it looks to them a lot of admins are online while in fact it was only one who had to deal with a lot of reports at the same time.
So this is one of the major reasons why we removed it.
We are well aware of the fact that the PR player base is used to be able to use the !admins command. We are confident though that our own player base understands why we do that and that they get used to it the same way they got used to the absence of map votes.
Thx for reading. Enjoy PRTA.

Re: PRTA EU2
Thanks for the explanation.
Would it be possible/an idea, that maybe like every 20 minutes or so the active admins type their names in the announcement chat (the same used with votes and warnings etc.) so players regularly can see who are the active admins, even on PRISM so that *IF* admin abuse or something unfair happens, players can remember which admins were active to bring it up at your forum or this thread?

assetruler69: I've seen things you smurfs wouldn't believe. Apaches on the Kashan. I watched burned down tank hulls after the launch of the single TOW. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to give up and respawn.

Wow these are the worst server rules Ive ever saw, there is no need to limit the decisions a player can make like this. You will not get a better SL cause he got a officer kit. It's a Ilusion to think that you can improve the teamwork on your server through adding these non sense rules.

Re: PRTA EU2
So on Kashan, how many Armoured squads are you going to micro manage? This seems like its only going to cause issues.
ARMOUR: All tanks, IFV, scout and anti-tank vehicles, including SPG and rocket technicals.
And transport claims APCs and helicopters? But not IFVs? But you have no list or definition of what is what?

Just to confirm

Does not mention landing aircraft. So can i kill those? My dream to make CAS players cry even more would become true8.2 Engaging enemy air assets whilst they are taking off from a main base is prohibited.

SL can operate the vehicleAll Squad Leaders of INFANTRY and MECHANISED INFANTRY squads must use the OFFICER kit when the squad has between 2-8 players, unless the Squad Leader is operating the asset.

"RECON squads are prohibited. RECON troops must join the CAS squad, or an INFANTRY squad if a CAS squad does not exist."
"All Squad Leaders of INFANTRY and MECHANISED INFANTRY squads must use the OFFICER kit when the squad has between 2-8 players, unless the Squad Leader is operating the asset."
"TRANSPORT: Dedicated to transportation and logistics. Includes APCs, Transport Helicopters and Logistics trucks."
"Where not otherwise defined, the squad which has been waiting the longest for an asset to spawn gets the asset(s)."
"There is no limit to the number of squads permitted, except if the number of squads exceeds the number of suitable assets available for which a squad has been named."
"Asset squads that would require more assets than are available are considered duplicate squads."
"Asset claims must be made between the time an asset has spawned and the time it leaves the base. Other factors contained within this section must also be taken into consideration."
(contradicted with the rule that state whomever waits longest for the unclaimable asset has the right to the vehicle)."50cal. Technicals, ammo trucks and civilian cars cannot be claimed by any squad; the first player to enter the vehicle claims it."
PRTA has lost the plot. All of these rules defy common sense, are too convoluted and most of them are incoherent at best.

"These changes have been made made to ensure that our Project Reality servers will be hosts to the most professional and realistic gameplay in the entire Project Reality community"
Yeah, but all these rules do is just restrict players to playing the game they way your management has always wanted it. It is laughable how bad most of these rules are. There was no needs for drastic changes to your rule-set. In an attempt to making your server unique, you will probably end up alienating a significant chunk of your player base in the short run. Oh well, I hope your admins enjoy March 7th! Should be a good day to watch for people both inside and outside of PRTA.
