BMP-2 rate of fire

Is it possible to give the BMP-2 the two fire rates for its 30mm cannon it has in real life? One with 200-300 rpm mode and one with 550 rpm mode.

That is what I did when I originally overhauled the fire rates, but in the end the team decided against it because it is not possible to carry the heat across to another fire rate. So you could fire until overheating at 550, then switch to 2-300 and keep firing. This is already an annoying issue with two different ammo types; add two or three different fire rate settings depending on the vehicle and it becomes exponentially worse. :(
