Bppu turret / mt-lbm (mb)

Post by blayas »

Checking on Bppu tower which is an updated version of bpu-1 (used in btr-80) , according to some sources of information, this turret fit day / night optical systems , among them the TPN-3 or TPN-3-42 " Kristall " (night opticall system) . In production and service since 1994 .

These devices can add the turret to IR vision capability up to 5.5x magnification.

So far only remember two vehicles equipped with Bppu turret in PR , btr -80A and the mt-lbm 6MB )

I also believe it is necessary to revise the nomenclature of Mtlb `` 6ma`` , is difficult to get much information about Mtlb's so that devs would confer on their sources, but some information that could indicate the mtlb 6mA actually port the bpu-1 turret (btr -80) , and the version represented in PR carries the modernized 30mm bppu turret, the name for this version of mtlb would mt- lbm 6MB .

Its true. I agree! It is interesting to know the interesting and realistic features to implement in the game.

This means it has an IR floodlight and optics sensitive to this type of light. This system is different from thermals. It's basically image intensification with a big light, not thermal imaging.

There is nothing else in the fact that these vehicles use image intensifier in place of more modern thermal optics, between vehicles in PR already owned / have representation of its image intensification using IR spotlight capabilities in PR are: bmp-2m, T-72 and FV101 ( much despite the IR capabilities of fv101 being disabled at the time).

BMP-2M is modernized, and has thermal imaging instead of a floodlight. Either me or Lt.Haglund made a thread about this and they got added, you can probably find it somewhere. T-72 is the only vehicle with thermals despite real life one not having them. FV101 does not have thermals in-game. Only scimitar does.

This is actually a really good suggestion. Its already being done with ATGM vs non-ATGM tanks, may aswell have it with T-72 with no thermals. Having more tanks but them being weaker and no thermals could very well be balanced.

Why MEC is running around with state of the art Russian IFV like BMP-3 and BMP-2M but has mid 70's T-72M1 with fantasy thermals is dumb. MEC should get T-90A and Russia should get T-90AM!

and yes OP you are correct that BPPU needs tech

Upgraded T-72 is a considerably modern piece of armor. New T72B - "Valera" - Project Reality Forums

So on which maps is this tank featured? (and why the hell MEC doesn't get it? again - because of reasons?)
