Hi folks!

I'd love to see a map centered around the British vs the IRA, Proper urban battles! Could be interesting, I'm new to the community..Has anyone bought this up before? or even tried it?

Idea is nice - now gather a team that will do maps, model extra guns and whole IRA faction, some terrain elements and you are set.

Its easy to bring it up, but its hard to get it done.

Also, post in suggestion section, not here.

Now just start modelling and mapping maps! You kinda can't just "hey guys I got new faction idea!" if you aren't willing to do anything for the now faction, because R-DEVs have not got time for community-factions (sure they can consult you etc)

I remember this idea not being welcomed so much before, but if there is a group of capable people interested I'd throw in what I can.
A reasonable amount of the work needed for a new faction would not be necessary for the IRA; pretty much every weapon they used a lot is already in the game. Also for the characters we could just whitey up some of the Iraqi insurgents and make them look a bit more like this:

The main challenge I see is creating a reasonable map for them. The Northern Irish countryside could make for a reasonable map given the 1980s Brits and an IRA faction, but it would feel basically like Falklands with more ditches. Could be reasonable, but IMO it would feel like WW2/0.98 Falklands so I'm not sure how worthwhile that'd be unless they feature on a city map or two aswell.
On that note, a city map is not realistic without huge work since none of the buildings in the game really match the architecture of Belfast, Derry, etc.

But yeah, what a year to do it. :)

Wow, I didn't mean to say...Hey guys...DO IT! lol More of, has anyone attempted it as I thought it'd be a good setting, So keep your sarcastic replies to yourself and be nice, I'm new ffs haha
