Cpt.Blount - New to Project Reality
I just started getting into PR and want to know which PR is better the Arma 2 or BF2. And who plays more on the servers.
Thank You very Much.

Re: New!! Whitch is better PR B2 or PR Amra 2
I don't think many people play the Arma 2 version of PR anymore.
As for the question I guess it's a matter of preference, personally I much prefer the BF2 version as I hate Arma 2's clunky game mechanics

I personally haven't tried to get into ArmA 2 PR, but I remember someone saying the development had been canceled to start developing the mod for ArmA 3. So, I don't think nobody's playing that.
Go with BF2 PR.

Re: Cpt.Blount - New to Project Reality
This is my first post in here. I've been watching lots of bluedrakes videos lately and one thing catched my eye. As i understand PR runs on several games and one of them is Battlefield 2 and in this game they are using local voice chat. What i mean is in-game VOIP (not on Teamspeak) but between squads, without the commander.
Now here's the question: Is it somehow possible to remove this mechanism and move it to a regular BF2 server (which runs on PBHUB). I'm a friend of admins on 2f4y.com, which is one of the last BF2 goood and busy servers, and if it's possible meybe they would be interesed in this.

The program used is mumble, Bluedrake's has managed to reverse engineer it to work on other BF family games.

Mumble was made for vBF2 before it was ported to PR, but we have tweaked the PR version quite a bit since then

So it's a 3rd party program, not in-build BF2 ? Who do I have to ask if it's possible, and later for permission?

Re: Cpt.Blount - New to Project Reality
Mumble is automatically installed alongside PR, be sure to have a microphone, the default keys to use mumble are H to talk in local (small area around you) and 0 on the numberpad on the right side of your keyboard to talk to all members in your squad, the rest of the numberpad is only used if you are a squadleader or commander.
Also several servers have a no microphone kick policy, so be sure to let people know you have a microphone or you might get kicked.

Re: Cpt.Blount - New to Project Reality
I think you might have missed the question. Is it possible to install mumble on a regualar BF2 server (without PR) and can players use it without installing anything on client side? Can it be operated only via server?
In case it's not, can it be separated from PR and used on a regular BF2 (both server and client)?

The application must be installed on a client in order for the client to use it. In the case of PR, it is installed alongside the game. For vBF2, it would need to be a discreet install.Wildcat_PL wrote:I think you might have missed the question. It is good to have it automatically installed... I wouldn't want to have clownfish players spamming onto their pluginned mumble'[508th_PIR wrote: Grey;2123359']The application must be installed on a client in order for the client to use it.
