[?] Colormap & Editor/Colormap difference?

What's the difference between these two file locations?

I've been working on a tool that merges all the txXXxYY.dds files to a single image so that i can edit it wholly, and later splits them back up into their respective pieces. I noticed that chaning the Map\Colormaps and reloading the map made no difference at all, but when I changed the Map\Editor\Colormaps suddenly the ones in Map\Colormaps take effect.

So I'm very confused here trying to figure out why the heck there are two sets of them.

Rather simple, the ones in the editor folder are those used by the bf2editor. Only when resaving colormaps will those of the editor folder be compiled to the main colormap in a different format. Make sure to share your tool afterwards on the forums! Would be rather handy to have a tool that combines colormaps correctly

Ah! Thanks Minreal that make a lot of sense now actually (just noticed the editor has a Compile Detail & Color maps checkbox too lol )

And yes I was planning on throwing it out here once it's stable enough to be used

Speaking of which actually, is there anyway to force a Colormap reload that you guys know about? It only seems to reload properly if I shut off the editor. I tried with loading a second map and then loading back to the one I'm mapping, but it seems the images are still saved in memory.

I don't know of a method to do so no.
