It's a pain in the *** :D

Really it's gonna be hit and miss. What you can do is add an xform modifier to your rectangle (forgot what he calls it in the tutorial but it's what you want the track thickness and such to be) and try rotating it different direction from the xform modifier. Then try again like you have and eventually you'll find the right combo to make it work right :)

Took me like 10 tries like this the first time to get it right

i'm stuck at moment with wheels.
Exporting a Tank for BF2/2142 - Battlefield SinglePlayer Forum
1) not symmetry colours
2) after moment with table my model just wont export. creating empty folder with empty meshes.
:(

p.s. dont even know if i'm doing it right :D

Exporting is one of the hardest parts for tracked vehicles. I would keep creating the model and wait for Ratface tutorial. Hopefully that will be more step-by-step than the current one

From what i heard Ratface Tutorial will walk you through the process on the example of the Tiger. A simplistic "mini tank" would be nice tho.

That isn't a terrible idea actually.

In all honesty I haven't worked with animated UVs yet, only rotational bundles for wheels. For the tutorial though I'm doing a tank that will be using animated UVs more than likely, unless I do them using rotational bundles instead.

I'm going to try to work on the tut a little this weekend, hopefully it won't take too long to get it out. Keep your eyes open in the next few weeks, I'll let you know when I've posted it :)

I would recommend the spline tool with mesh rather than lofting, also has automatic UVs that way and far more control.

I made tracks already.
My main problem now is that after "coloring" wheels(even one) as in guide exporter just dont make con and mesh files :(

not delete :3

Is this important to weld objects like lights, boxes and etc on tank? welding adds a lot of polys/tris :(

It'd be cool if it were to be rushed into some non-RU vs Militia maps. Dragon Fly with a T-64BV would be cool. Will the rear mounted (T-80 style) fuel tanks be on the model?

I think T-64BV could replace T-90 in some RUS/Mil maps.
- Dragon Fly
- Grozny (add t64 for rus and "nerfed" t72 for mil)
- Kozelsk
- Iron Ridge

Not really needed. We already have a weaker Russian tank in the works that should be finished soon. It will be the T???B ;)
