I've been updating the front page minimap so just keep checking that out!Nice stuff, can you post minimap?
I had a look ages ago at how other maps had their basket ball and tennis courts and they used the lines meant for dock yards I think. I just wanted to try something different. In real life, paint is put on the grass. The lines are thicker than that in real life though. Still, I though it looked interesting. The nice thing is that if I add muddy areas onto the pitch, it will change the color of the pitch!I would use the road tool to draw the lines on the football field. I'm pretty sure there is one which is a single white line, otherwise you can always just make a new white one of the yellow 'industrial line' texture.
Also, not a big deal but maybe a tarmac texture would fit better than the grass? To make it look something like this:

Yeah, to me the thickness of the lines togheter with the "shininess" of the color is what looks a bit weird, If you use the road tool I really don't think anyone will notice it's a line ontop of the grass, will probably still look like its painted on the grass, especially from a distance.The_Turkish_Moose wrote:I've been updating the front page minimap so just keep checking that out!

Before you blast me about using BF2142 buildings, I know that there's a lot of controversy about importing objects from one game to another. The only reason I'm sharing my project to the community now is because I was hoping to find someone who would be willing to work with me making some simple buildings!
If no one is willing to help me, all the tall buildings will have to be replaced by what PR already has. Not much more to say now as this project is still far from finished but I intend to get it near done by the summer time. I just need to now as soon as possible if someone would help me model some buildings. Contact anyone you think that could help! It's not an easy task but I thought I'd take a shot in the dark and see if anyone was willing to help.
Comments and suggestions welcome!
P.S: I haven't added to much detail yet so no comments about that please.

I appreciate your enthusiasm but they are not ready for release yet. At the moment, The BF2Editor is not working properly on my Laptop. I have a desktop PC almost built so when that's up and running my priority is to finish my maps.

So here's the deal...
...after have my room expanded, I finally have some room for a desktop computer. I just invested ?2000 into a top-spec computer I have built and just yesterday finally all software and programs up. The BF2 editor works perfectly on this machine and I will be dedicating some time to finish off at least one of my maps - primarily working on this one!
I will be asking the devs once more for a final yes or no on whether or not I am allowed to keep the BF2142 buildings. Hopefully they can spare a little bit of time so we can discuss about what I can and can't do. Until this is made clear, I will not be able to do much on this map as I don't want to have to back track and make more changes than I already have to now.
Hopefully, my computer doesn't explode and I can put some hard work, finally finishing a level worthy of PR!

We aren't in a position to tell you what you can and cannot do. You are free to mod the way you please.
As far as our own team's policy, we don't use anything we don't have permission for and try our hardest not to break that rule. Given that we actually publicly publish our content to the masses. So I'd say that given it's a DICE game doesn't necessarily give us straight away permission to start using their other games content. It would be the same as taking battlefield 1 assets to make a PR WW1 minimod. We are already breaking EULA of DICE for years(masterserver, modified executables,...) as otherwise our game would still be the relic it was nearly a decade ago, but that doesn't mean we will simply start doing even more to break it just cause we can and want to use some new assets.
And to be perfectly honest, those statics are also simply not up to quality or good enough in the first place to be considered usable for PR IMO.
So in short, we don't recommend you using them, but we aren't in a any position to tell you what you can or cannot do.

Okay! So the map would not even be put into PR, not because of the copyright issues, but because the dev team does not think that the statics are good enough?So in short, we don't recommend you using them, but we aren't in a any position to tell you what you can or cannot do.
If that is the case, Point of Existence 2 has some decent statics which look like apartments - would they be suitable/ good enough quality? Ideally, I do not want to take away the tall building aspect of my map as it makes the aesthetics beautiful.

I might know the statics you speak off but just incase show some pictures of them please.
Problem with most large statics is that they look nice in the skyline, but up close they are horribly undetailed and serve no gameplay purpose compared to smaller statics other then being higher.
There is a reason why we don't look into making such maps and statics ourselves

Yeah those I looked into originally as well for Syrian Maps. They are pretty shit xD From what I remember bad LODs, extremely bad texture usage, ...

Hmm, I really don't want to level my city! Without having someone make new statics, is there any other tall buildings I can use which the PR devs deem "good enough"?Pretty unusable I'm afraid.
Are the smaller items ok to use? I might not use them all but intend to use the trucks!
