Some ideas

Post by jkerrigan »

Just a few suggestions that I wouldnt mind seeing in the mod.And hopefully some of you feel the same way.
Ive noticed how DiCE focused this installment of the BF Series on infantry combat, and so seeing as how this would be a benefit, what about peeking/shooting around corners. Also what about the ability to drag the bodies of fallen comrades for a revival away from the firefight.Ive had quite alot of games where my squad member has fallen and I cant get to him because theres either a tank within 20 feet,or bullets blazing over head.
And one more important thing,DiCE fails to realize that if there was a war between China and America it would not be fought completely in a desert/mud hut theater,so what about some major city maps within China, maybe MEC vs China,or a Aerial Assault by China into a US occupied territory, maybe this would be an awesome chance for China to invade Tawain and would make for some really good urban comabt.

Just wanting to point out that the senario of war between China and USA is probably the single most unrealistic thing in the whole game. Never happened, and never going to (That's just a fact, sue me if I'm later proven wrong). The idea itself is just so absurd that I can't see any reason why DICE decided to go that way other than for the purpose of including another fraction. One might even go so far as to say they included the Chinese to be politicaly correct, since there's no asians amongst the US player models (And only one afro-american).

did you ever read 'debt of honor' by tom clancy? his story involves china possibly going to war with the usa, and in a realistic way which is a bit too long to explain here. so i'm just pointing out it might be possible, though not likely.

Tom Clancy is a great "what if"senario writer, but as long as it hasn't happened, and there's certainly NO indication that it ever will, I'll stand my ground on what I said.

true, but as bf2 is based in the future it's all what if...

and unless pr plans to take out china it'll still be what if...

it's all about possibilities.

Not if the whole game ends up being based on real world conflicts. Anyhow, the only major asian power that would, as of now, seem like a threat is North Korea. I don't know about you, but to me it would sound a lot more realistic if North Korea decided to invade a neighboring country, holding the major world powers back with the threat of nuclear war.

Changing the uniforms would be easy to do, and as for North Korea potentially atacking China, I'd think they would realize that it would be a pretty bad idea. But Japan would be a realistic target, with their army being no match.

"We'll see"?

Dude, is there anything you'd like to tell us about this?

'Cause, if you often discuss battle plans with Kim Jong, I'd like to know when NOT to go to Japan.

top secret...

actually, i'm trying to pursuade him to hand over bin laden.... 8)

no, joke. you never know. i mean, i don't think many people would have predicted in 2000 that in 2005 the us would have invaded iraq and afghanistan because those terrorist rats flew planes into the twin towers.

so. we'll see...

Well actually its more than possible that China could become an enemy, and technically it still is.Seeing as how the Cold War is still not over because not every Communist nation has been eradicated. Not only that but China has had its eyes on Tawain for some time.

Not to mention the numerous failed rocket tests aimed at Japan. Heard a news report about how a large unindentified missile had been launched from somewhere in North Korea, only to break mid-air and falling short of japans mainland by several miles. Of course, it ended in the ocean, and some political mumbo made it impossible for the japanese to investigate further.

That was madcap scary

China got involved in the korean war, back when the US was anti-communist. Now the US is anti-nukes.... and look who has nukes, North Korea! So what if history repeats its self, with a small twist? Iran also has a nuclear program thinger.

That explains the MEC and China as well as throwing in a whole new military, the North Koreans.

IRT the original poster, MEC and China are allies so I doubt they'd be fighting each other.

who knows, one of them could pull an italy and swap sides.

I am ALL FOR north korea and the same sort of storyline leading up to it, it could in fact explain china being in there.

North Korea sounds wicked. Especially since they don't use those fur hats, they look awesome.

The North Korean military's effect on the economy cannot be overstated. The government spends 22.9% (2003) of the nation's GDP on military (compared to 3.3% (FY03 est.) for the U.S. and 2.7% (FY03) spent by neighboring South Korea), and has recruited 1.2 million of the healthiest young men into the army. This focus on military spending is unheard of anywhere else in the world, and has severely depressed the North's economy for decades
